The second episode of Southern Charm,”Kat’s Out of the Bag,” has everything we need: crab traps, mimosas, and Kathryn as the independent woman we know she is.
Cameran Eubanks and Eliza Limehouse go to the nail salon for a pedicure, but Eliza talked the entire time. She spends a good amount of time talking about how her dad’s affair means she doesn’t get to go to parties anymore. What Southern Charm, indeed.
In the past few days since this episode aired, Cameran and Naomie Olindo have been on a “save Eliza” campaign on the internet. They say she is “misunderstood” and a “sweetheart” and to give her a chance. I appreciate the effort, but I think my opinions on Eliza will stay where they are.
In the previews for this Southern Charm season, there is a scene with Eliza, Danni, and Naomie on horses. Eliza says something along the lines of Kathryn Dennis not trusting her, and the ladies agree that she isn’t very trusting of people right now.
If you were Kathryn, after all she’s been through (and is still going through) would you trust this friend of Thomas Ravenel? I, certainly, would not. I hope they don’t turn on Kathryn again, because I am not here for that.
Kathryn’s big move
Kathryn decides it is in her best interest to rent a home for her and her children. There is a chance, with all that is going on with Thomas, that she could get full custody. This home happens to be $6,600 a month. More on that later.
According to People, Kathryn and Thomas reunited recently for their daughter’s pre-school graduation, sans Southern Charm cameras. See her instagram photo below:
Craig Conover orders a box of beef jerky. Like a big box of a beef jerky. And has no recollection of ordering it, apparently.
House warming and crab grabbing
Chelsea has finally finished her house and it looks great. She is having a party and not serving Austen Kroll’s beer. Austen is mad about this but apparently can not afford to produce his own beer, so I’m unsure how this is Chelseas fault.
They play a very fun game involving spinning around and chugging beer and falling down, apparently.
The best part of the episode is when Shep Rose goes off to visit Cameran at her house. She invites him to go check the crab traps out back. Shep decides the best way to check the traps is to stick his hand in the trap. Unsure what he thought the crab would do, perhaps shake his hand?
As expected, the crab grabs Shep’s hand with his claw and makes him bleed. He says he liked the crab because it looked like him. I leave you with their crab conversation.
Cameran: “You cant just grab a crab”
Cameran: “I’ve never seen anyone just reach their hand into a crab trap, I mean, you are a true moron.”
Shep: “God, I loved that crab. He reminded me of me, he was defiant, brave, all my best qualities.”
Southern Charm will be back next Wednesday at 8 PM ET on Bravo.
