Teresa Giudice learns that reality TV does affect reality, Danielle Staub’s daughters will never forget

On the last episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa Giudice sat down with one of Danielle Staub’s daughters and apologized. 

Even though it’s no secret that much of reality TV isn’t that realistic, it does make an impression on the lives of those who are filming it. In many cases, it also affects those not filming it, or at least not starring in it, like the daughters of Danielle Staub.

Danielle hit the peak of Real Housewives notoriety back in Season 2 of RHONJ when Teresa Giudice flipped the table in a fate of rage and called her a “prostitution whore.” And while Danielle’s past may be checkered, ask yourself if her daughters really needed to be pulled into all of that.

While Teresa may have been irate during that epic table flipping scene that Bravo fans will never stop talking about, how would she like it if someone had done all that to her while her daughters watched?

When Tre sat down with now 19-year old Jillian, she realized just how badly she hurt Danielle’s daughters and how that whole scene really affected their lives. It cut them so deep that Danielle’s older daughter is still angry and refused to give Teresa an opportunity to apologize.

While we’re all busy arguing about edits and what parts of reality TV are real or not, it’s worth noting that when kids are involved, there should definitely be boundaries. Oftentimes, it seems like there are not, especially if the piece is going to get great ratings.

It’s not all Teresa Giudice’s fault

Of course, the responsibility to protect your kids doesn’t fall solely on the producers or the person yelling “prostitution whore” at you. It also falls on the parent who puts their children or themselves in a position to be humiliated with cameras rolling.

Danielle Staub hasn’t made a whole lot of great decisions for herself. After all, she brought her daughters to that dinner where cameras would be rolling and Teresa went off the rails.

Most recently, Danielle has found herself caught up in controversy again. In the Real Housewives of New Jersey previews, Bravo teased fans with a snippet of the season. In it, Margaret Josephs can be seen telling the other RHONJ women that Danielle Staub was having sex in the bathroom.

It all happened during the grand opening of Gorga’s that we saw on Real Housewives of New Jersey on the last episode. So why didn’t we see any footage of Danielle’s trashy escapade? Rather than continuing to make Staub look bad, producers opted to cut the footage. There are rumors that Danielle asked them to do her a solid and not air the scene. Is it because she just got Teresa to apologize for calling her a “prostitution whore” and then here she is like five seconds later acting like a… well, you can decide.

In any case, all parties involved with Real Housewives of New Jersey or any other reality show should know by now that the antics they pull in front of the cameras can cost them for a long time afterward in real life.
