Amanda Bynes has been out of the spotlight for over a decade with her last on-camera role being in the 2010 movie Easy A alongside Emma Stone. Even though she hasn’t been actively working in Hollywood, times have been tough for the former Nickelodeon star whose absence from the screen has been marred by a slew of personal and mental health issues. But now, Amanda Bynes is back in the spotlight with a podcast she launched on Spotify on December 9, 2023.

Amanda Bynes got her start in Hollywood as a child star who appeared on Nickelodeon in the 90s and 2000s on shows like All That‘s spin-off series, The Amanda Show. From there, she appeared in movies like She’s The Man and shows like What I Like About You, really showcasing her comedic skills. Unfortunately, as many former child stars struggle with, she fell victim to mental health and substance abuse issues through the 2010s and into the 2020s.

Luckily for people that grew up being a fan of Amanda Bynes, it looks like this podcast might be evidence that she’s on the right track and doing better.

What is Amanda Bynes’ podcast about?

The podcast is called Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast and is co-hosted with Paul Sieminski, a biochemist, and is not actually focused on Amanda Bynes’ personal life — at least not as of the first episode.

Although fans of Amanda Bynes might have been hoping to hear the actress open up about what she’s been going through in the past decade, she focuses the first episode of the podcast on interviewing their guest, a tattoo artist named Dahlia Moth.

The fact that the podcast isn’t focused on the host isn’t necessarily a surprise, though. Amanda Bynes has been largely staying out of the public eye and focusing on non-Hollywood parts of her life, including graduating from FIDM in 2019, two years before her conservatorship ended.

She first announced that she and her friend Paul would be launching a podcast earlier in 2023, but made it clear from the very first announcement that she was going to be focusing on having guests like artists and celebrities appear on the podcast for the pair to interview and have an interesting discussion with, so it seems like the first episode is a good indicator of the podcast’s format.
