Luann de Lesseps enters not guilty plea stemming from Christmas Eve drunken arrest

Luann de Lesseps has had a rough couple of weeks and now, it looks like it could get worse. 

Christmas Eve was a bad day for RHONY star Luann de Lesseps. She was arrested in the early morning hours and charged with three felonies. The former countess was reportedly intoxicated and had an altercation with a police officer after trespassing in a hotel room that wasn’t hers.

As the story has unfolded over the last week and a half, things have gone from bad to worse. When we initially reported the details on the story, we speculated that Luann de Lesseps would check herself into an alcohol treatment program. A few days after Christmas, she announced she would be seeking treatment. This was likely done at the urge of a lawyer, though that was not confirmed.

The charges against the RHONY star aren’t anything to laugh at. Luann de Lesseps could be facing jail time, though it is unlikely with the initiative she took with entering treatment. It is unclear how long she will be there, but fans are guessing anywhere from 30 to 60 days.

According to Us Weekly, Luann de Lesseps entered a not guilty plea in Florida on December 29. This is standard apparently, though it is unlikely the charges will be dropped. There is hope that she will get probation and community service as the worst case scenario, though they may want to make an example of the reality star.

On RHONY, Luann de Lesseps has done some pretty wacky things while being intoxicated. Most recently, she fell into the bush next to the walkway while talking to Ramona Singer. Of course, fans called her out for having an alcohol problem, but she never addressed it.

There was some buzz that Luann’s ex was disappointed in her behavior and wanted her to change her name in order to avoid bringing further embarrassment on the family name. That’s pretty harsh, but he isn’t messing around. Unfortunately, it isn’t easy for her to drop it because her children carry that name as well.

Luann de Lesseps blamed the drinking on her failed marriage. Apparently, this had been the first time she was back to Florida since her wedding. Luann married Tom D’Agostino December 31, 2016, but the marriage only lasted seven months. Despite her insisting she was okay with things ending and had moved on, clearly, this was an issue she didn’t deal with all the way.
