‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ season 8 cast shakeup, premiere delay — what’s the real story?

Real Housewives of New Jersey fans went into panic mode when they heard about a ‘cast shakeup’ and season 8 premiere delay.

We can’t wait for the Real Housewives of New Jersey to grace our television screens again. That’s why rumors of a cast shakeup and the delay of the season 8 premiere had us reaching for our oxygen masks.

Seriously? We can’t wait much longer to watch Teresa Giudice show off some new yoga moves while we eat chips and salsa in bed. So, let’s clear things up and move on to more important things. Like what kind of wine we’ll be drinking when RHONJ Season 8 premiere airs on Bravo.

Earlier this month, a cryptic tweet about a “key player” getting fired had fans thinking the worst.  Team Faux Reality tweeted, “#RHONJ will be delayed from original air date. A key player was FIRED in a bombshell shake up.”

Of course, everyone assumed this “bombshell shake up” was about a cast member. Turns out that is not true, but a premiere date delay might happen. Oh, and the person who allegedly got fired wasn’t one of the Housewives.

Here’s what we know

Keep in mind, all of this malarkey happened in early July. We’re just getting up to speed on this after checking out some random tweets about RHONJ. So, if this is old news, bear with us … we’ve been a little pre-occupied with the RHOC‘s new season. No shame.

All About the Real Housewives claims to have contacted a number of sources when they initially read Faux Reality’s tweet about an alleged firing. They were told the tweet from Faux Reality was “false.”

More from Champagne and Shade

Of course, they assumed the “bombshell shake up” was about someone from the RHONJ cast.

And hey, can you blame them?

Is it a bombshell if the guy running craft services on set got fired? Or a producer? Not really.

Was Faux Reality stirring the pot? It turns out the firing (or whatever happened) was someone in production, not a cast member.

So, why not say that in the initial tweet?

That’s not a bombshell at all. Way to get everyone spreading gossip about RHONJ.

However, to be fair, they didn’t know exactly who it was when they first tweeted. Then again, get all your info before you tweet to avoid the fallout.

Hey, look at us! We’re reporting on this weeks after it happened. Might be old news, but at least we waited until the whole story played out.

What about the premiere date?

Faux Reality claims that due to someone from production getting canned, the RHONJ premiere may not happen until October 4, one month after it was initially scheduled to air.

September. October. What’s the big deal? It’s a month. As long as the Real Housewives of New Jersey comes back this year, it’s all good.
