Season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac gave us new housewives and friends of the housewives, with Stacey Rusch joining the mix as a housewife thanks to her friendship with Karen Huger. When she joined the franchise we learned that she was going through a divorce, but was slowly building a romance with a friend from her previous career on QVC.
Off and on this season it has felt like she was a solid addition to the cast, but there were certainly moments that left us wondering if she would be a one-and-done housewife. While she had no problem calling people out for their bad behavior, her personal life didn't feel like it brought enough of a storyline, unlike some of the other women. To be a housewife with staying power, you need to have something in your life that allows you to be the center of attention amongst the other women.
Overall, it felt like a decent first season for Stacey, but there was definitely room for improvement. And then we got to the RHOP reunion.
Stacey Rusch walked into that reunion with drama that we didn't even know about and it gave us another look at the fierce housewife we saw at different points throughout the season. While she did touch on her divorce and had thoughts about Karen and her behavior, that is not where Stacey really shined in this reunion episode. That is because she refused to let Mia Thornton gaslight her about standing her up in Miami after Stacey flew down to Florida to celebrate the other woman's birthday. And she wasn't willing to just take her apology at face value. The tears weren't swaying Stacey.
But the Mia and Stacey drama was just the beginning of what we had in store for us as the first part of the reunion came to a close. Honestly, it felt like Stacey walked into the RHOP Season 9 reunion with a lot of fight and determination to get people to be honest. While she seemed open to letting people tell their side of things, she also wasn't willing to let anyone walk all over her.
We still have two more parts to this reunion, but so far it seems like Stacey Rusch is fighting for a sophomore turn on RHOP. And we are here for it.
Stacey Rusch was a solid addition to Season 9 of RHOP, but it is this reunion that is giving us the drama we wanted from the new housewife. Hopefully, she returns for Season 10 and gives us more of this fire and strength. She doesn't need to be a dramatic housewife to be entertaining, but we definitely want to see more of her speaking up and being bold.
Reunion Stacey might just be my favorite version of our new housewife. And if she brings this energy to Season 10, then we can't wait to tune in and watch.
