Stephen Curry for president? Curry not opposed to entering political world

In a world where a reality TV star can be president or an action movie star and a wrestler can be governor is it any surprise that more people are considering careers in politics? Honestly, at this point, nothing really surprises me when it comes to political careers. But have you ever thought of having Stephen Curry as president?

According to US Weekly, on March 12 Curry appeared on an episode of CBS Mornings where he chatted with Jericka Duncan about his newest children's book, I Am Extraordinary. During the chat, Duncan asked the NBA star about a potential political career, and in particular whether or not he has considered running for president.

Obviously, a political career would have to wait until after he had retired from the NBA, but it is interesting to see a news correspondent already asking about Stephen Curry's retirement days. So what did Curry have to say about a potential presidential run?

"Maybe, I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in the way that I can. So, if that’s the way to do it, then — I’m not going to say the presidency, but if politics is a way that you can create meaningful change, or if there’s another way outside of politics."

Considering Stephen Curry and Ayesha Curry have repeatedly showcased their desire to give back and help others, it makes perfect sense to consider him as a politician making a difference. In 2019, the couple launched a foundation dedicated to helping young people with nutrition, physical activity, and literacy. The Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation has been doing good since it began and it continues to grow and offer support to the youth of Oakland, California.

From his NBA career to his philanthropic endeavors, Stephen Curry has been doing his part to make a difference in the world and to have an impact on as many people as possible. So it just makes sense that he might consider not only a political career but perhaps even one as president.
