It's only March and 2024 is already proving to be a huge year for Selena Gomez. The former Disney Channel star released a new single, "Love On," is in an adorable happy relationship with musician Benny Blanco, and has been dishing on the new Wizards of Waverly Place revival.

Selena Gomez has been balancing both acting and music for much of her career and although she recently said that her heart really lies with acting and she would prefer to focus her skills on the screen instead of in the recording studio, she's obviously not quite ready to fully retire from music just yet.

The former Disney star and "Back To You" singer appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote her new single, "Love On," and spilled some fresh details about the new Wizards of Waverly Place revival.

Previously, Selena Gomez placed Alex Russo, a lazy, troublemaking young wizard on the Disney Channel series and she says that this new revival is "not a reboot" of the original series.

According to Deadline, the new revival of the series starts with an adult Justin Russo, older brother of Selena Gomez's character, is forced to return to the wizarding world that he left behind in order to pursue a normal life when a young wizard in need of guidance shows up at his doorstep.

Although the summary for the pilot episode focusees on the oldest of the Russo children, Selena Gomez previously revealed that she would be reprising her role of Alex Russo for at least some of the show. And even though the show seems like it's going to be focused on her older brother who chose to leave magic behind to live a normal life, Selena Gomez says that there will be plenty of magic in the new series.

"Well, yeah. I am the family wizard," she said about whether or not the show is going to feature the same heavy dose of magical goodness that the original show had.
