Selena Gomez is now a billionaire like her BFF Taylor Swift
Selena Gomez has joined the billionaire's club alongside best friend Taylor Swift. While much of Swift's fortune comes from her music, for Gomez it seems like her money is a combination of her acting and musical career, as well as her beauty brand, Rare Beauty.
According to Page Six, the majority of Selena Gomez's fortune is definitely due to Rare Beauty, although there is no denying that her entertainment career has certainly helped to build her financial portfolio. Since Rare Beauty launched in February 2019, it has actually become a big hit in the world of social media influencers.
While you might think of Gomez as a performer first, especially when looking at the success of Only Murder in the Buildings, she is truly a businesswoman. And as Stacy Jones, a marketing expert and CEO of Hollywood Branded, explained, "Selena is not just a pop star. She’s a multifaceted businesswoman with diverse income streams contributing to her impressive net worth."
In the Forbes report about Selena Gomez being a billionaire, they report that she is worth an estimated $1.3 billion, and she is actually "one of the country’s youngest self-made billionaires," alongside Taylor Swift. And if you were wondering about her BFF, back in April 2024 it was estimated that Swift was worth an estimated $1.1 billion (and yes a lot of that is thanks to her ERAS Tour).
With Gomez being the third most followed person on Instagram, and making millions thanks to partnerships over there, it does make sense that she would eventually break into the billionaire's club. However, there is no denying that her business acumen is really what is driving her fortunes. And we expect Rare Beauty to just keep pushing her wealth up.
While some may not like that there is another billionaire in the world, here's hoping that Selena Gomez is out there doing good in the world with the money she has earned.
