In season 4 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, it felt like Meredith Marks really came into her own in terms of finding her voice and letting people know exactly what she was feeling. And that was especially true when she kicked fellow housewife Angie Katsanevas out of a dinner party.
But as we head into season 5, Marks is done with staying quiet. And one of the ladies that she has thoughts about is none other than Whitney Rose. Rose is one of those housewives who seems to have a lot of opinions and she has no problem sharing them. The problem tends to be that she doesn't always deliver "opinions," and as Meredith said in a recent interview, often it seems like Whitney is actually applying labels to people.
According to Reality Tea, Meredith Marks had plenty to say about Whitney Rose and her "opinions."
"I think that you know, Whitney says things and just has no regard for the consequences of the things that she says. And she’ll speculate on things and say them as if they’re facts. Or you know labeling someone is not an opinion. You know … she’s like, ‘This is my opinion.’ Well calling someone a villain, that’s not an opinion. That’s a label. That’s degrading their character. It’s not just an opinion, you know?"Meredith Marks
And Marks did not stop there, as she wanted people to really understand what she meant when she talked about Rose and her "opinions." (When it comes to explaining herself, Meredith tends to have a way with words.)
So what else did Meredith have to say about the difference between an opinion and a label?
"Like if somebody said horrible things about her and said, ‘That’s my opinion.’ Those are two different things. Your opinion is talking about actual behaviors, not labels, you know what I’m saying? I mean, sure, if she thinks it’s okay to express all her opinions then I guess we should, too."Meredith Marks
It sounds like Meredith and Whitney are having issues, and sadly, it is not that surprising. While these two ladies have had a few ups and downs, as we head into season 5 it sounds like there are more downs than ups with these housewives.
One thing that has always made Whitney Rose an interesting housewife is the fact that she doesn't seem to have a filter. Not only that, but she never really tries to sensor herself, even if that means hurting someone else's feelings. In this case, it seems like the lack of a filter has found a target in Meredith Marks. And Marks is unlikely to let Rose get away with just saying whatever she wants to say.
What do you think about what Meredith Marks had to say about Whitney Rose? Do you agree with Marks and her assessment of the things that Rose says? Do you think these two women will have a rough season?
