The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is all about the drama and that's what we love about the series. But one drama that keeps popping up is lawsuits. And the latest RHOSLC star to get slapped with a lawsuit is OG housewife Lisa Barlow.
Barlow has apparently been hit with a lawsuit over $410,000 in unpaid loans. And those loans were said to be all part of how the housewife was keeping her businesses going.
According to Reality Tea, it seems that a former friend and business partner of Barlow's is who filed the lawsuit. Allegedly, the two were so close that there was never any firm agreement as to a repayment plan, and after years of being brushed aside, Bart Carlson is looking to the courts to get back the money he feels that he is owed.
Considering how successful Lisa Barlow seems to be in business, at least based on everything we have seen over the last few seasons of RHOSLC, no one should be surprised by the fact that she is denying these allegations. In a statement from Lisa, she admits that at one point she did do business with Carlson, however, she does deny ever having "outstanding loans" from him.
"Bart Carlson was once a business partner in a restaurant in Park City and, I thought, a friend. I am deeply saddened that he has decided nine years after our restaurant business ceased to claim that I owe him money. To be very clear, the claim that I owe Bart or his company money is untrue. I pay my bills and obligations and I always have."Lisa Barlow
Clearly there was a business relationship between these two, but this is definitely one of those cases where the courts will have to make the final decision.
What do you think fellow housewife fans? Are you surprised by this lawsuit news?
