Fans of the Real Housewives of New York are in for a treat as they have a new housewife they are getting ready to meet. Season 15 of RHONY is set to be another drama-filled watch and nothing says drama quite like a new face in the mix.
Bravo has announced that Racquel Chevremont would be joining the cast of RHONY for Season 15 alongside Brynn Whitfield, Sai De Silva, Erin Lichy, Ubah Hassan, Jessel Taank, and Jenna Lyons who had already been announced for the season. For some viewers you may potentially recognize the newest addition to the cast, as she has been the face of a number of ad campaigns for brands such as Nivea, Fila, Benetton, and L'Oreal, to name a few.
However, there is more to Chevremont than just a beautiful face. She is also an art curator and a queer activist, using her voice to help others. She is all about representation and making sure that black women, queer individuals, and women in general have a voice. So it also makes sense that she is the co-founder of the Josie Club. And if you don't know what that is, it is "a Black Queer Femme and Woman supported and operated social impact group that organizes community around collaborative event productions."
Racquel Chevremont is the newest housewife to join the cast of RHONY
Rumors of Racquel Chevremont joining the RHONY cast began in March. Considering she is a friend of Lyons, there was talk at the time that she might be signing on as a Friend of the Housewives, but considering who she is and what she brings to the table, it makes sense that she would be a full-on housewife.
While Chevremont might be a new face to the franchise, it will be interesting to see how her expertise and backstory adds to the RHONY storylines. We are all about adding fresh blood to the housewives, and while RHONY recently got a full reboot with a new cast, that doesn't mean that new people aren't welcome and wanted. There is something to be said about watching the drama of growing pains and seeing how new personalities mesh with the rest of the cast.
All of this to say that I am definitely excited to see what Racquel Chevremont brings to the table. As a native New Yorker with roots in both Brooklyn and the Bronx, it should be interesting to see how she intends to find a place for herself on-screen and if she will be a housewife we fall in love with. And if you are anything like us, you have already searched for her on social media and begun following her to get any insights into what we can expect from our latest Bravo star.
What do you think of this casting news? Are you at all surprised by RHONY bringing in a new face who happens to be a friend of a current cast member? What do you hope to see with this new addition?
