When it comes to Melissa Gorga of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, we think of family, business, and fashion. But we also think of time in the kitchen with family as well. Every season on RHONJ, we get at least one episode featuring the Gorgas in the kitchen. And we love to see it.
Recently, Melissa Gorga partnered with Rao's Homemade on a recipe for One Sheet Chicken Parmesan with Prosciutto. It is a dish that is easy to make and perfect for any family gathering or dinner. I had the opportunity to talk with Melissa about this partnership, as well as her time in the kitchen and her store, Envy.
First, we had to talk about the partnership itself, as it is the reason we had the chance to chat with Melissa about Envy. The goal of this partnership with Rao's Homemade was all about how easy it is to turn to Rao's products to elevate your recipes. It is also a chance to shine a spotlight on the fact that the brand is actually a tasty alternative to making sauce from scratch when you don't have the time to make a pasta sauce at home.
In chatting with Melissa, we also asked about Joe Gorga and his time in the kitchen with her. It turns out that Sundays really are their day in the kitchen together, with Melissa revealing that she would feel, "insulted if he doesn't get up or stop watching football and like, help me do something because I feel like it's a time to be together hanging out. We always pour a glass of red wine while we cook on Sundays."
Melissa Gorga talks to Champagne and Shade about Envy
One of the last questions we asked Melissa during our interview was about Envy. Specifically, we wanted to know what her goal is with the store and what her future plans include:
"You know, I just opened my second one two months ago, which is doing amazing out in Huntington, New York. Like I always said, I wanted a store on Long Island, so I'm happy that I was able to put it there. The one in Ridgewood, New Jersey — it kills it. It's my baby. I always say, the best thing to come out of the Real Housewives of New Jersey is the fact that I created this business, and there's something for me, that is mine and that I just have that avenue to be creative the way I want to. Everything is handpicked by me. I love dressing people, I love making people feel good. And you know what I think is eventually we're gonna go for store number three and we're just gonna keep building. So Envy is, thank God, the best thing to come out of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. I have to give it credit because it gave me that platform, it gave me that push to not be scared and be a young mom of three and create that business. So that was huge for me."Melissa Gorga
And since Melissa admitted that she would love to open a third location of Envy, we wanted to know where she would open another store. The answer to that might surprise you (or not), depending on how often you watch RHONJ:
"I would either love it to be down in, like, South Jersey because I don't have one in South Jersey. Or Nashville, believe it or not; I feel like it would thrive in Nashville and I would pick all the sequins and all the denim and it would be really great in Nashville."Melissa Gorga
We think it would be amazing to see Melissa Gorga's Envy expand beyond the Tri-State area, especially to a place like Nashville. And we appreciate the fact that she is still thinking big when it comes to her business.
This partnership with Rao's Homemade was a great opportunity to get a peek into Melissa Gorga's kitchen, while also learning a bit more about her work as well. And we can't help but hope that there are more partnerships like this one in the future.
