Andy Cohen denies rumors they are considering bringing Kathy Wakile back to RHONJ
The Real Housewives of New Jersey is currently in the midst of a very turbulent time. Season 14 has been an epic disaster and even the official reunion show has been cancelled. So it makes sense that whenever an OG housewife from RHONJ appears on a show like Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, people are going to speculate about what that means.
On July 14, an OG of RHONJ made a surprise appearance on WWHL, and of course, it got the rumor mill churning. Kathy Wakile appeared on WWHL as a surprise for Gary Janetti. It seems that Janetti is a big fan of not only Wakile but also her cannoli. After her visit to the show, fans were quick to speculate that this was a sign that the former housewife would potentially be making a return to RHONJ.
Sadly that does not seem to be the case at all. And Andy Cohen was rather quick to end that rumor.
Andy Cohen denies rumors that Kathy Wakile is returning to RHONJ
According to Reality Tea, following the WWHL episode, Cohen took to the airwaves on his Sirius XM's Andy Cohen Live show to make it clear exactly what happened and what is not happening in the future.
"The speculation online that I read this morning was that it was some sort of subliminal signal or we were testing things to see how people responded to seeing her in the Clubhouse as a possible return to Jersey.
- Andy Cohen
There was no intention behind her visit besides seeing an old friend and we wanted to surprise Gary Janetti, who we know loves her and her cannolis, and so we just thought it would be fun if we had a, you know, vintage housewife come through the door."
At this point, it really doesn't seem like any of the current RHONJ speculation is accurate, at least based on all the rumors that keep getting debunked. And while it might be interesting to have the Wakiles back on our screens, they would have to want to do the show for that to happen.
We don't blame Kathy Wakile for not wanting to return to RHONJ and of course, we didn't really think her appearing on WWHL was actually a way to test-run her coming back. It's always nice to catch up with OG housewives, especially outside of the shows that gave them a platform. And that's exactly what this was, a chance to catch up for a bit.
Honestly, it doesn't seem like there is much of a plan for Season 15 of RHONJ at this point. And it makes sense since they haven't even gotten through the mess of Season 14 yet. But it should be interesting to see what comes next in New Jersey.
Did you think Kathy Wakile appearing on WWHL was a way to soft launch her return to RHONJ? Are you at all disappointed that Andy has completely squashed that idea?
