As season 5 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City kicked off on Bravo, we were introduced to a new snowflake holder thanks to Lisa Barlow. It turns out that she recommended her friend Bronwyn Newport to be a housewife, but pretty early in the season it became clear that even if Lisa and Bronwyn were friends outside of the show, things could change.
And Lisa is acknowledging that her friendship is definitely not the way it once was, especially since she apparently didn't back Bronwyn when issues with Heather arose. So what did Lisa have to say about bringing a friend on the show and them basically doing a 180 on her?
According to Reality Tea, Lisa was asked about whether or not she regretted recommending Bronwyn for RHOSLC by ET, and her response was "I don’t think I’ll ever recommend anyone again."
It turns out that Lisa Barlow has actually recommended quite a few people for the show, but she is over it at this point. Lisa went on to say, "I recommended hundreds, and I think I’m gonna stop. There’s a common denominator, and it’s usually hating me. So, we’re done."
Lisa Barlow is done with recommending people to join RHOSLC
If you are a fan of RHOSLC, it likely comes as no surprise that Lisa might be over bringing people onto the show and then having them turn on her. Whether you agree with her assessment of people hating her or not, it is clear that she is unhappy with how things have been going down in season 5.
In terms of what happened with Bronwyn Newport and the drama around her apparently not supporting her friend, Lisa shared that she feels like she did offer her support. "I didn’t do anything to Bronwyn. I defended her the best I could, knowing that she’s my friend. The expectation people have on me to defend them is 180 from the expectation they have on themselves."
While Bronwyn clearly doesn't agree with Lisa, it will be interesting to see what happens as we go deeper into the season, especially with the ladies (minus Heather) going off on a couples trip with Bronwyn in episode eight. It will be interesting to see if the relationship between Lisa and Bronwyn devolves even further on screen because it certainly seems to have hit a rough patch within the first few episodes.
We don't really blame Lisa for being over bringing people onto the show who don't seem to have her back. Although it is clear that Bronwyn hasn't really said anything terrible about Lisa, and she has even clarified with the other women that what they are saying about her friend isn't what she has seen from her. So maybe this is all a misunderstanding that will be cleared up at the reunion show. And if not, at least we have the fun of Bronwyn now in the mix to shake things up.
What do you think of what is happening on RHOSLC? Are you surprised by the way things are playing out between Bronwyn and Lisa?
