There are some comedians who have such a lasting impact on entertainment that we talk about them for years, even after they have passed away. And one such comedian is none other than Bernie Mac himself.

In the new ViCE TV series Black Comedy in America, viewers are getting a chance to learn more about the comedians and programs that have helped shape today's entertainment. Hosted by Tiffany Haddish, Ryan Davis, and Chris Spencer, this program is as much about comedians, as it is about the impact that they have on their medium. And in the second episode of the series, it is all about Def Comedy Jam.

Thanks to an exclusive clip that was shared with us, we know that episode 2 is going to give us a better look at the magic of Bernie Mac and his comedy, with a little bit of help from Bill Bellamy.

A preview of the second episode of Black Comedy in America, where Bill Bellamy talks Bernie Mac

In the clip above, Bellamy opens up about being backstage at Def Comedy Jam with a tough crowd and a comedian getting booed on stage. He shares that Bernie Mac was not about that reaction and it led to him saying that he "didn't come all the way out to this...to get booed." And so it actually changed his approach to his routine.

Not only did his comedy routine shift based on the crowd, but it actually led to a rather iconic moment, as he let the crowd know that he was not here for all the "foolishness." Considering the type of comedian that Bernie Mac was, it makes perfect sense that he changed his approach in order to engage the crowd. In fact, it seems like calling the crowd out was exactly what was needed to get people laughing.

There are a lot of comedians in the entertainment industry, but there is no denying that there is no one quite like Bernie Mac. And it is clear, especially based on Bill Bellamy's recollections of the late comedian, that his being one of a kind also earned him a lot of respect.

Check out the preview for episode 2 of Black Comedy in America below. And don't forget to tune in to ViCE TV at 10:00 PM ET/PT on Tuesday nights to get a better appreciation for the comedians and comedy that have helped the industry grow.
