According to People, Demi Lovato got engaged on December 16, 2023 to her fiance, Jordan Lutes! The pair met in January 2022 and publicly announced their relationship later into that year and are a match made in musical heaven with both of them working in the music industry.

People reports that Lutes proposed to the former Disney Channel star with a pear-shaped engagement ring from Material Goods, a jewelry boutique located in New York City, and the pair of them celebrated the occasion with those close to them afterward.

Jordan Lutes is a Canadian indie musician and songwriter who first met Demi Lovato when the pair were in the studio together to work on songs from Demi’s eighth album, Holy Fvck. In July 2022, a month before the pair went public with their relationship, Jordan Lutes shared a clip of the music video for Demi Lovato’s music video “Substance,” one of the songs the two wrote together. In the caption for the post, he had some kind words to share about the experience, saying:

"one of my fav songs i’ve ever worked on. when i got asked to pull up and write for this session i remember thinking wtf am i supposed to do in a demi lovato session? only to show up and realize she was making one of the hardest rock projects i’ve ever heard. obviously a crazy milestone for me but beyond that i feel so blessed to be a part of something i’m such a big fan of."

Jordan Lutes and Demi Lovato are both sober

Demi Lovato, who uses she/they pronouns, has been open about their sobriety journey for many years. In 2022, they promoted their then-upcoming album Holy Fvck at Audacy’s Mix 104.1 in Boston and said, “I’ve done a lot of work on myself. I put myself back through treatment again and now I’ve come out with a clear head, and I’m sober and just learning to be in my skin.”

The same month, Jordan Lutes took to his social media accounts to share that he was 100 days sober, saying that it “took a long time to be ready” but that he is learning and working on himself.

Something else the pair have in common is their love of music. The two of them met working on Demi Lovato’s music, so it’s no surprise that they both love music so much. During an interview Jordan Lutes did with The Nuance Magazine, he said:

"I really live to write songs—it’s what I do every day. Sometimes at 3 am before bed, sometimes while I have my morning coffee. It’s my therapy, and it’s how I first started being honest about my emotions and mental health, so my connection to it is very deep-rooted."
