Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper reunite at Maestro premiere
By Lacey Womack
Five years after the release of A Star is Born, stars Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were reunited on the red carpet for the premiere of Maestro. A Star is Born starred Lady Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, and Bradley Cooper who also directed the film. The movie, the latest in a lineup of remakes of the story, earned eight Oscar nominations and won three Grammys.
Stepping back into the director’s seat, Bradley Cooper directed and starred in Maestro, a 2023 movie that follows the life of composer Leonard Bernstein and his wife Felicia Montealegre. Cooper plays the lead role alongside his co-star, Carey Mulligan, and the two stars of Maestro posed on the red carpet with Bradley Cooper’s A Star is Born co-star Lady Gaga at the premiere.
In A Star is Born, Bradley Cooper plays a musician with an addiction problem and a slew of personal issues who falls in love with a young singer, played by Lady Gaga, and the film follows their tragic love story.
The pair sang the song’s emotional duet “Shallow” at the 2019 Oscars and Bradley Cooper revealed that the two of them chose to be in-character as their A Star is Born characters for the Oscars performance in order to ease his “anxiety level.”
"They kind of fall in love in that scene in the film. It’s that explosive moment that happens to happen to them on a stage in front of thousands of people… It would have been so weird if we were both on stools facing the audience."
Bradley Cooper & Lady Gaga’s relationship following A Star is Born
Even though the pair did not fall in love in real life, the fact that fans though their “Shallow” performance at the Oscars was proof that the two of them had fallen for each other off-screen shows that the pair definitely know how to sell a story.
But where is their relationship now that the movie is over?
According to Bradley Cooper, he made a “friend for life” in the “Poker Face” singer. And she had a similar sentiment when speaking about him, sharing that the experience really helped her step into her acting shoes. She said, “Watching Bradley work was phenomenal and then having him believe in me — it gave me more ammunition to believe in myself and I just feel so blessed to have had that experience.”
