Vanessa Hudgens, who had her breakthrough role as Gabriella Monetz in the High School Musical series before going on to appear in Netflix’s The Princess Switch series, is married! She married Cole Tucker, a baseball player who has previously played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Colorado Rockies.

According to People, the pair tied the knot in Tulum, Mexico during a romantic, private ceremony in the first weekend of December.  Over the weekend, photos of the pair on the beach in Mexico with Vanessa Hudgens wearing all white were shared on X (formerly Twitter) and had her fans buzzing with excitement before sources confirmed to People that the pair were on the beach for a destination wedding.

The newlyweds were first linked to each other in late 2020 when they were spotted holding hands out and about in Los Angeles and they spent just over two years publicly together before announcing their engagement in February 2023. While appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show, Vanessa Hudgens opened up about their love story and said the MLB player caught her eye during a group meditation session over Zoom and she sent him a DM introducing herself after they were done.

Back on the same show after getting engaged, the High School Musical star talked about the stress of wedding planning and said, “I don’t know, finding a venue is tough. I kind of just want to elope. I’m really, I’m lost.”

It seems like even before the two of them met in that Zoom meditation class, their love story was already in the works. Back in 2012, Cole posted to his social media saying, “In search of: A girl who’s down to watch High School Musical with me and scratch my back.”

From the sound of it, Cole Tucker is going to be getting a lifetime of back scratches and maybe even some live performances of High School Musical songs from his wife, Vanessa Hudgens.
