Cher might finally feel ‘Strong Enough’ to write a memoir

Cher, real name Cherilyn Sarkisian, first rose to fame at the age of 16 when she dropped out of school and started taking acting classes and dancing in clubs in Hollywood in order to try to pursue her dreams of stardom. Despite being young, Cher’s determination paid off and she met Sonny Bono in 1962, a friendship that eventually evolved into romance and a legendary entertainment relationship as Cher became a worldwide sensation as a singer and actress.

Despite having a career that spans decades, Cher is one celebrity who has never come out with a memoir detailing the most intimate parts of her life. While appearing on The Tonight Show, she opened up to host Jimmy Fallon about the fact that she’s never written a memoir because she “chickened out” of the act when she’s tried to in the past. But, it’s possible that she finally feels “Strong Enough“ to put pen to paper!

What’s taken so long?

“I just totally chickened out,” the “Believe” singer admitted during her interview on the late night talkshow. “I didn’t put in some things that needed to be in. And they’re not comfortable, but they need to be in, so I have to go back and man up.”

While being open and honest about one’s personal life and the highs and lows of a career as long as Cher’s has been is definitely not easy for any superstar, the entertainer, 77, initially announced that she was planning to pen the story of her life back in 2017. Although Cher doesn’t have an estimate on when it will be released and hasn’t shared any possible name ideas just yet, she did say that she’s “lived too long and done too much” for it to be a short book, so we’re anticipating quite a heavy read to hit the shelves by the time she’s done.
