Paris Hilton has a lot to thankful for, especially after she announced that she and husband Carter Reum welcomed their second child, a daughter named London. In 2023, the two of them became first time parents to a son, born via surrogate, who they named Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum. The two of them initially tried IVF to expand their family before using a surrogate to have their son and later in the same year, Paris shared that their family was growing by one more.

From rumors to romance
Paris Hilton and Carter Reum have stated that the two of them met while in their 20s, but drifted apart for some time. Even though the pair hasn’t revealed how they initially met, Paris Hilton has had some pretty surprising famous friends through the years. According to the hotel heiress, things go back to Thanksgiving of 2019 when his sister, Halle Hammond, invited Paris over for a holiday dinner and she reconnected with her old friend.
Dating rumors started swirling around the two of them when they were spotted kissing at a Golden Globes afterparty in early 2020 and in April of that same year, Paris made things Instagram official by sharing an anniversary sentiment on her profile.
“Happy Anniversary my love. My favorite thing to do is make memories with you. Your kisses are magical,” she captioned a picture of them sharing a kiss. “I love being yours and knowing you’re mine.”
Throughout the rest of 2020, the two of them were spotted vacationing in the Hamptons and she couldn’t stop gushing about how in love she was with Reum. She told People, “I just always wanted what my mom and dad have. They’re best friends, he’s so loyal. I was always looking for that, but I was looking in the wrong places.”
A year-long whirlwind for Paris Hilton and Carter Reum
In December 2020, Paris shared a heartfelt tribute to her boyfriend in the form of a video of the cutest moments they’d shared together throughout the past year, all set to her song Heartbeat. “I love that we celebrate our love every month!” She wrote in the long caption about their year-long relationship. “Love you forever my twin flame, my best friend, my other half, my partner for life. And I can’t wait for our future and a lifetime of love and adventures.”
Not long after the two of them celebrated one year together, Paris opened up about their plans to expand their family, said the two of them had chosen to go the IVF route, and thanked longtime friend Kim Kardashian for introducing her to her IVF specialist.
"I’m really excited just to move on for the next step of my life and finally just have a real life. Because I really do believe that having a family and having children is the meaning of life. And I haven’t got to experience that yet, because I didn’t feel like anybody deserved that love from me, and now I finally found the person who does."
2021 was a busy year for Paris because in February of that year, she traveled to Utah to appear in court so she could testify against the Provo Canyon School that she alleged abused her as well as other students that were sent there. Though this was undoubtedly tough, sources close to her said she was thankful to have Reum by her side every step of the way as she opened up about her experiences at the boarding school and used her voice to get justice for herself and the other victims.
Paris in Love
While on a romantic island getaway for Paris’ birthday, Reum popped the question and Paris couldn’t have been happier to say yes to the man of her dreams. She shared a shot of the proposal to her Instagram account and in order to really celebrate their relationship, Paris shot a music video for her 2006 song Heartbeat, the same one that she used in the video for their anniversary. video.
Throughout the rest of the year, Paris’ focus became all about planning their wedding and sharing her relationship with the world. She appeared on a Peacock reality series, Paris in Love, and talked more about her plans for her future with her husband and their future children.
In 2021, she was already planning for a daughter named London and said she thought she’d be “strict” with her future children.
The pair tied the knot on November 11, 2021. Paris told Vogue that 11:11 is her favorite time of day and that this date had always been her dream wedding day, saying that it’s a significant set of numbers to her because, “It’s my reminder to make a wish and be open to miracles.”
She shared photos and videos from her miracle day to her Instagram account as the romantic day extended into a fully star-studded, neon weekend to celebrate their new marriage. Following their wedding, the newlyweds went on their honeymoon to not just one, but a reported five destinations, including Bora Bora, the private island where Reum proposed, and London.
It’s a boy!
In January 2023, after over a year of being married and celebrating their love in the public eye, Paris Hilton took to Instagram to share the news that she and Reum had welcomed their first son, Phoenix Baron Hilton Reum, via a surrogate. “You are already loved beyond words,” she captioned the heartwarming image of her baby’s hand holding her finger.
Even before welcoming their son, Paris Hilton had chosen a name for her future daughter: London Marilyn Hilton Reum. “Marilyn after my grandmother and London because it’s my favorite city and I think Paris and London sound cute together,” she explained during an appearance on The Ellen Show.
After revealing her son’s name, Paris also opened up about the inspiration behind it:
"Phoenix has a few good pop culture reference points, but more importantly, it’s the bird that flames out and then rises from the ashes to fly again. I want my son to grow up knowing that disaster and triumph go around and come around throughout our lives. And that this should give us great hope for the future."
In February 2023, Paris Hilton told Glamour that she and her husband were still hoping for a girl. After seven rounds of IVF, she revealed that the two of them had retrieved 20 total embryos and that all of them were boys, but that she would be waiting to see if they could have a girl in the future.
Now that the two of them have announced the baby girl that Paris has been waiting for it, it’s safe to say that the “miracle” she’s been waiting for has finally come true. In her interview with Glamour, she stated she just wants to be normal:
"My mom has always said to me, ‘Paris you’ve worked so hard, you’ve achieved so much, just sit back and smell the roses and enjoy it.’ I don’t know, I just finally feel like I’m building a real life and I’m really living."
