People everywhere are swooning for Jack Black as Bowser – I get it

For the past decade, millennials have been criticised for not having real role models to look up to. I get it. We live in a social media- age, where role models essentially cease to exist, or at least role models of the inspirational kind. But, dude, have you seen Jack Black as Bowser? That’s about as inspirational as they come.

Unfortunately I have yet to watch The Super Mario Bros Movie but my cinema ticket is booked for this coming weekend and I can’t wait. As a 22-year-old man, I will gladly take the title of oldest person in that cinema room.

However, I don’t think I could quite pull off all the Bowser merch which Jack Black is so beautifully repping in recent weeks. I know that embodying a character is just as important when you’re a voice actor, but I don’t think we’ll ever get the real Jack Black back.

If anyone was made for the role of a fiery-breathing Koopa king, it would be Jack Black. The man has played substitute teachers, members of rock bands, a Mexican wrestler, yet donning as Bowser in his quest to steal Princess Peach is most certainly his most realistic performance.

But perhaps the most recognisable scene, and the one which I’m most looking forward to witnessing for the first time in cinema, is where Jack Black was asked to produce a song and in it was the most heart-wrenching love song this world has ever seen. Fans on Twitter have absolutely loved it, for good reason.

We knew that Bowser could breathe fire, but who knew he could sing fire?

Big names play big characters.

No further questions needed!

What did you make of Jack Black’s brilliant enactment of Bowser in The Super Mario Bros Movie?

Next. This is Sacha Baron Cohen's greatest performance. dark
