2. Emma Watson

I’m not even sure where to begin with Watson. Emma was thrown into fame when she nailed the role as the beloved Harry Potter series character Hermione Granger. She spent most of her acting career with the franchise, but instead of running off that success, she took a pause to further her education. This move spoke volumes of her character, and she didn’t stop there.

Watson became a UN ambassador and has since been at the forefront of several civil rights campaigns, primarily gender equality. She has become so devoted to activism that one could forget that she is someone who achieved international fame in one of the most popular movie series in history as a small child nonetheless.

3. McConaughey

McConaughey is one of the top saints of Hollywood with his overt endeavors with U.S. specific issues. Celebrities typically try their hardest to steer clear of political affiliations and topics, especially those of his generation and up. But McConaughey continues to use his platform to spread awareness regardless of the backlash that follows.

Following the 2022 tragedy in Uvalde, McConaughey spent weeks visiting the families who lost their loved ones. He also shared his views on gun control following the series of mass shootings, which those with opposing views may not have appreciated, but it was clearly an innocent attempt of his to bring people together.

Alongside his comfort and assistance to the victim’s families in Uvalde, McConaughey is a veteran volunteer with Meals on Wheels. He has spent every Thanksgiving dishing food to those in need on the holiday since he was a child.

4. Leonardo DiCaprio

The praised and versatile actor has put himself at the forefront of environmental advocacy. DiCaprio has spent over two decades putting in serious work to spread the word on the seriousness of climate change.

Not only does he donate a substantial amount of his money and time to the cause, but he has done something other celebrities can’t match up to – he educates.

The A-lister has created numerous educational films and documentaries, has used times centered on his acting career to speak about climate change, started a climate change initiative that has reached further than most. The list goes on – but when it comes to caring for our environment during this pressing time, he is playing a major role in it.
