Jennifer Coolidge, one of the stars of White Lotus, was asked what her dream role was. She answered with an instant classic, stating “I’ve always wanted to play a dolphin.”
The quote came from an interview with Access Hollywood during the 61-year-old actress’s appearance at the Golden Globes. One of the interviewers asked “what is the dream role for you now? If anything could happen, what would it be?” Here’s what she said.
After proclaiming that she has always wanted to play a dolphin, the other interviewer asks for clarification, assuming that Coolidge wants to play a dolphin in a live-action feature. Coolidge compared her dream role to the dolphin from Flipper before beginning an explanation.
Jennifer Coolidge’s interview was interrupted as The White Lotus won another Golden Globe
Just as we were about to get an explanation of Jennifer Coolidge’s dream role, the interview was interrupted by an announcement at the Golden Globes. That announcement was another Golden Globe won for The White Lotus.
Coolidge played Tanya McQuoid in the show, making it her second consecutive season as one of the stars of the HBO hit. Her character provided comedic relief in an otherwise drama-filled series, playing an extremely needy wife who is constantly confused. She nailed the role.
Coolidge, in fact, nailed the role so much so that she earned her first Golden Globe for best supporting actress in a limited series. Her character was a favorite among White Lotus fans, leading a star-studded show.
Other season two cast members included big names such as Theo James, Aubrey Plaza, Haley Lu Richardson, and many more. The first season of the show also featured a handful of famous actors, with names like Jake Lacy, Alexandria Daddario, Connie Britton, and Sydney Sweeney leading the charge.
This time around, Jennifer Coolidge led the charge.
