Rumor: Elon Musk, the world’s second-richest man, could be deported
Elon Musk is one of the dorkiest celebrities of all time. Despite efforts to seem cool, the Tesla CEO continuously posts corny tweets and creates publicity stunts that don’t seem consistent with things that are generally associated with the world’s richest man.
That’s right — Elon Musk is the world’s richest man. Oops. He WAS the world’s richest man. He is now the second-richest man, according to Bloomberg Billionaire Index‘s most recent update this week.
Musk was surpassed by French billionaire Bernard Arnault, with Arnault’s $171 billion eclipsing Musk’s $164 billion. My personal net worth is around $75 and growing steadily!
On top of losing his status as the world’s richest man, Elon Musk may be at serious risk of being deported from the United States
Boy, things are really going downhill for Musk, aren’t they? Sure — losing your status as the world’s richest man doesn’t really mean anything, but for a guy who has such a large ego, it has to be slightly disappointing.
On the other than, Musk’s potential deportation would actually mess up his life in a very serious and tangible way. So what’s the story behind that?

In short, Musk may have lied on his application to become a US Citizen. It’s not exactly clear why, but this is a matter that is being investigated. Musk was originally born in South Africa but became a Canadian citizen at the age of 18. In 2002, he would become a United States Citizen.
Some, however, are putting the legitimacy of this claim in question. In fact, outside of this account, there aren’t any reliable sources confirming the fact that Musk is being investigated. So is this real or is it just a rumor?
I have no idea.
It seems like a really strange, random thing to be made up but it can’t really be proven or disproven at this point. That said, my gut instinct is telling me that this isn’t really true.
