It has been reported that Kim has since been released from the Wakulla Country Corrections facility.
Anybody who has watched TLC’s Welcome to Plathville has an opinion on Kim Plath. The polarizing mother figure has received backlash from fans of the show (and her older children) about her strict parenting style. Fans are already taking to social media to voice their thoughts on the matter, calling out how this behavior does not align with the expectations of her children.
Past mentions of alcohol
Throughout the show, Kim started to open up to her children about her past, which has impacted the way she decided to raise them. It is noted that Kim received a citation for having an “open container in a motor vehicle” back when she was nineteen years old.
Kim had previously made mentions of being in a sorority during college and experiencing many parties when she was younger. She has also mentioned childhood trauma, including sexual abuse and having an alcoholic mother. Kim’s stance on drinking seemed very permanent, making it a major shock when she agreed to having an alcoholic beverage with her second oldest son, Micah, during Season 4.
Plathville’s Nathan Meggs DUI
Kim isn’t the only member of the Plathville cast to have a run in with the law over alcohol use. Olivia’s brother, Nathan, also has a DUI charge. According to In Touch, the police found Nathan parked at a gas station on March 11th in Tampa at 1:23 AM. He was under the legal drinking age at the time of the arrest. Fans have speculated that this could have been after Micah’s 21st birthday party, which was showcased during Season 4. Micah turned 21 on March 10th.
"“The defendant was observed unconscious in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, while the vehicle was turned on, at the gas pumps of a gas station,” Police Officer Parker wrote in the police report. “The defendant had vomited on himself, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his mouth, he was slurring his words, and he presented a noticeable sway."
There have been no statements from the Plath family at this time.
