The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently on a royal tour in the Caribbean, and are sharing their adventures on Instagram. Much like anyone else might, the royal couple is posting pictures from their trip to their social media platforms. But in doing so, they are drawing some interesting complaints from their followers (and fans).

As Cosmopolitan pointed out, the reason that fans are complaining is because while Kate Middleton and Prince William are in fact sharing a look at their royal tour, they are doing it without actually saying anything. Basically, they are posting pictures but not really saying anything in the captions.

And while captions might not seem like the biggest deal ever, for many of the royal couple’s Instagram followers it seems to be.

Prince William and Kate Middleton face surprising backlash on Instagram

One comment on a post from the couple reads,

"Can y’all say a little bit more in these captions… it sounds like you’re uninterested, which I KNOW you’re not."

Still another comment reads,

"The photos are gorgeous. Please use more descriptive, and informative captions."

Basically, while people are loving the images themselves, they want to know more from the couple. Instead of just looking at the pictures, they want to know what is happening, where they are, and what they are experiencing.

Over the years, there has been a lot of attention on the couple and in particular on Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, in terms of what she is doing and wearing. And with the couple on this important tour for the royal family, followers are hoping to see more information on these posts.

While one might say that the couple did include small details of where they were visiting, we have definitely seen more involved captions in the past for even simple outings, so a trip like this feels like it warrants more care in the descriptions.

Perhaps they plan to go back and edit the posts and add more information, but for now it seems that fans are disappointed in what they seem to see as a lack of “interest” or “information.”
