Did Meghan Markle have a plan to marry a Prince before she even arrived to the UK?
According to her family, Meghan Markle always wanted to be a Princess, and as a little girl she would often dream about walking through a castle with a Prince on her arm, but never could she have imagined that her dreams would one day become a reality.
However, after she tied the knot to Royal Family member, Prince Harry, who’s sixth in line to the British throne, in 2018, she went on to live happily ever after – more or less – with her Prince in California.
And although Meghan Markle didn’t quite manage to nab the title of a “Princess” – though she sure dresses like one – from the day she said “I do”, she and Harry were known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, so still a pretty major win for the little girl who once only dreamed of this life!
But was her marriage to Prince Harry a surprise to Meghan? Or did the former Suits actress arrive in the UK with a plan to nab herself a Prince? Find out below.
Did Meghan Markle have a plan to marry Prince?
Well, according to Royal commentator Jonathan Sacerdoti, Meghan Markle’s “far-reaching ambitions” could have very well gotten her through the doors of Buckingham Palace, and it’s this ambition that could see her one day taking a step into “politics”.
According to the journalist, marrying Prince Harry took an “enormous amount of planning and ambition”.
Despite this claim, we’re still very skeptical. After all, we highly doubt Meghan Marle sat around planning an elaborate Oceans 11 type sting where she studied Prince Harry’s every move to plan an ‘impromptu meet-cute’, I mean can you really imagine that? Who would have the time!?
It was clearly always meant to be! Although we’re not sure why Meghan took a trip across the pond to the UK in 2016 in the first place – perhaps to take in the sights? – reports explain that the Duchess met her Duke by complete chance.
What seems like a long time ago, in 2016, during the couple’s first sit-down interview with the BBC, Harry revealed that he had been set up with Meghan on a “blind date” in early July, through “a mutual friend”, so there was no scheme in play.
Following their first date, things moved quickly, the couple were jet setting to Africa on a romantic getaway where they reportedly “fell in love” and the rest is a whirlwind!
