Emily Ratajkowski couldn’t catch a break while showcasing her latest crushed velvet bikini look. The supermodel, 30, continues to promote her best-selling Inamorata clothing and swim line, although it wasn’t smooth sailing as the London-born star took to Instagram ahead of the New Year.

Emily shared a killer duo of photos showing off her brand’s latest collection, also making it wintry and festive as she wore a massive and furry trapper hat – and it’s here that everything turned a bit ugly. EmRata actually made it clear that the hat was faux fur in the comments, but fans aren’t buying it.

The photos, seen below, showed the “Blurred Lines” star flaunting her world-famous body in a very chic swimwear look. EmRata had been photographed indoors and pouting with her plump lips while rocking an asymmetric and cut-out pink bikini, one flashing hints of her rock-hard abs. EmRata used both hands to hold ties from her Russian-style hat, one definitely taking center stage amid the bikini action. “Crushed velvet swim. Wednesday @inamorata,” the mom of one wrote.

Likes came in fast, but it’s Emily’s own comment that’s now sparking a debate.

EmRata had written: “Faux fur hat” with a heart emoji, seemingly to avoid any confusion. Her comment gained 500+ likes, plus a fair few users raising eyebrows over it. “Doesn’t look faux. I see a white patch of skin,” one user replied.

“@emrata this is not faux fur!” another exclaimed. A third even suggested the star was wearing “death animals as a hat” and used the word “lie” – they did not appear to be a native English speaker, though. That said, love did come in, even from TikTok star Addison Rae, who wrote: “You’re angelic.”

EmRata has since updated to promote her Moose Knuckles partnership, plus her Kerastase haircare one, although the model has admitted that what you see on Instagram isn’t necessarily reality. Addressing confidence overall as she spoke to Glamour, Emily revealed:

“I have days when I literally cannot look in the mirror because I am sick of myself. I don’t like how I look or I want to change certain things about myself. We are stuck inside one body, we can’t see ourselves and we have no perspective on it.”

“The comments and the number of likes shouldn’t be what defines your confidence, it should come from you enjoying yourself,” she added.
