Kelly Ripa impresses with breezy swimsuit celebration snap

Kelly Ripa is big-time getting the thumbs-up as she marks a special occasion with a green swimsuit throwback. The 50-year-old daytime talk show host, followed by 2.9 million on Instagram, is fresh from shouting out dad Joe Ripa’s birthday, with a double thumbs-up shot delighting fans. Kelly, who celebrated her wedding anniversary earlier this year and got a tiny tattoo to mark her wedding date, is now giving a nod to her “pop pop,” of course including the trademark humor that’s her standard.

Big Birthday Energy

Scroll for the photo. It showed Live! With Kelly and Ryan host Kelly piggy-backing on dad Joe’s back and backed by oceans – the breezy setting showed the popular blonde in a long-sleeved and green rashguard swimsuit, all hair blowing in the wind while backed by waters, a distant beach, and palms.

Kelly threw out the thumbs-up and a big smile, with Joe (clad in a zip-up white top) doing the same. Taking to her caption, the former All My Children star wrote:

"“Let’s all wish my dad, Joe Ripa, a happy birthday! Not only is he the best father, pop-pop, and husband. He also is an exceptional windscreen! We love you dad.”"

Over 165,000 likes have been left, including one from 42-year-old media personality Maria Menounous – she made headlines earlier this year for filling in as co-host while Kelly took time off. Quick to reply was 46-year-old co-host Ryan Seacrest, writing: “Happy Birthday Joe Ripa!” See more photos after the snap.

Instagram Loves Her

Also commenting was Bravo face and host of the recent Keeping Up With The Kardashians reunion special Andy Cohen. “Happy birthday Joe! What a great pic,” he wrote.

Kelly had made 2019 headlines for marking a major milestone as Joe turned 80. The pint-sized blonde even took to Italian in her caption, honoring her heritage, and writing: “Happy Birthday daddy! This is eighty! #80. We love you with heart and soul,” per People.

Headlines are, however, more about Kelly and husband Mark’s kids these days than the star’s own parents. Kelly is fresh from celebrating NYU student daughter Lola Grace Consuelos’ 20th birthday – she’s sandwiched by brothers Michael and Joaquin, with Kelly recently celebrating Joaquin’s college graduation. Kelly did squeeze her dad into a recent Instagram post, though, one marking Father’s Day and seeing her own father pose with Mark’s dad Saul as they twinned while holding espresso cups.

“Happy Father’s Day to the two greatest. ♥️♥️ World’s best father. World’s best father in law. #fathersday 2010,” Kelly captioned the snap.
