The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 11 finale is upon us, even though it feels like this season just started! But nonetheless, RHONJ Season 11 does deliver some more drama before signing off for the season. The bulk of the finale takes place at Marge’s big birthday/Halloween bash for Joe Benigno and it’s fun to see everyone show up in costume.
But before we get to that, there are a few other things to address. The episode starts with Teresa answering the door to Luis, who makes his first official on-screen appearance. They go on a date together and it seems like Teresa is genuinely happy with her new man. Let’s just hope all those rumors about him aren’t true.
Elsewhere, Bill and Jennifer have a romantic, fairytale dinner together because their daughter, Olivia, wanted them to do something nice after all the drama with Jennifer’s parents. Also, Olivia is a queen and we love her! Bill remains the best RHONJ husband by officially proposing to Jennifer for the first time (since their marriage was technically arranged he never did) with a jaw-dropping canary yellow diamond that even Sonja Morgan would go gaga over.
Melissa and Joe’s manufactured storyline continues as they bicker about Joe’s behavior toward Dolores at the other party. Melissa tells him to keep his mouth shut at the Halloween shindig to keep any more drama from happening, but we all know that’s not going to happen.
RHONJ Season 11 finale recap: Jennifer gets drunk, Marge & Joe argue over the chauvinistic comments
At the actual party, Melissa and Joe dress as a mermaid and merman; Jackie and Evan are Cher and Sonny; Teresa looks spectacular as cotton candy; Dolores and Frank are a plastic surgery victim and Joe Exotic; Jennifer and Bill are JLO and Prince, and Marge and Joe B. are Morticia and Gomez from The Addams Family. Everyone looks fantastic and Marge spared no expense for this party with lots of themed treats, goodies and decorations. It made me really miss Halloween!
Except Marge wasted no time turning into the judgmental drinking police as she made a few comments about Jennifer getting wasted on tequila. It’s not like Jennifer was trashing the place, she just got drunk! But come on, it’s a Halloween party, not a black-tie affair. I think she was just having fun.
RHONJ Season 11 finale recap: Melissa tells the girls to back off from her marriage
But conversations eventually did get around to the way Joe Gorga treated Dolores, especially as Marge has been going around calling him chauvinistic behind his back. Neither Joe nor Melissa is thrilled about that, but while I don’t agree with Marge on everything, she had a point with this. I was glad she didn’t let him off the hook for his behavior.
Marge and Joe got into it about that and his relationship with Melissa and the implication he’s holding her back. It trickled over to Dolores and Melissa confronted Dolores to tell her and the other ladies to back off. She doesn’t want them calling Joe chauvinistic even if she agrees he’s acting that way.
Back with the guys, Bill actually steps up (because he’s the best) and tells Joe that if the ladies are saying he’s being inconsiderate then they need to listen! Thank you, Bill!
Ultimately, Melissa and Joe leave in a huff and the ending seems to imply that they might actually end their marriage, although I think we all know that’s not going to happen. It was all a little rushed in the end, I’m not sure why Bravo couldn’t have at least given us a two-hour finale!
The RHONJ Season 11 reunion starts next Wednesday on Bravo.
