Bravo and Real Housewives executive producer Andy Cohen believe that Real Housewives of New Jersey is responsible for the latest fights in Melissa and Joe Gorga’s marriage, per Cheat Sheet. RHONJ Season 11 has featured some heat between the couple because Joe isn’t thrilled with the changes Melissa has made in her life, basically, she’s not the homemaker she once was as she gets more involved in her business.

During a recent chat with Access Hollywood, Melissa even said that RHONJ Season 11 was the “lowest” point in their marriage and that they even toyed with the possibility of divorce.

“Have we brought it up and gasped about it? Probably. But, nothing has ever happened to us other than these highs and lows. I’m busier than I’ve ever been and that probably affects him. He admits that there’s insecurities…men need to understand that we don’t necessarily need you, we want you. It’s just different. He doesn’t like change,” said Melissa.

Andy recently did an interview with Wendy Williams and when asked about the Gorga’s relationship troubles this season, he said that he thinks the show is to blame for how things have been going down with the pair.

RHONJ: Andy Cohen doesn’t think that Joe Gorga wants Melissa to give up her career

“He [Joe Gorga] keeps saying, ‘You’re busy and you’re not around,’ – I think it’s the show. I think she has had so many opportunities as a result of the show, and fame…but I think it’s the red carpet thing and going out and there’s an Us Magazine party and there’s this. So I think that kind of played into this.”

A lot of people on social media have been calling Joe a manchild who wants Melissa to give up her career, but Andy doesn’t agree with that perspective. He doesn’t agree that Joe wants Melissa to give up her career.

Ultimately, Andy says, “We’ll see. I love them as a couple.”

Of course, all of this is operating on the basis that Melissa and Joe’s fight is real, which most viewers (myself, included) aren’t so sure about. Most of the Gorga’s fights these past few seasons have seen painfully staged and scripted. Even Jennifer Aydin thinks some of Melissa’s storylines are made up for television, which she alleged at the Season 10 reunion.
