RHONJ Season 11, Episode 10 recap: Sinking Ships

We’re getting into the warmer months in real-time and in Jersey as RHONJ Season 11, Episode 10, “Sinking Ships” sees the ladies taking a boat trip where things get heated between Margaret and Jennifer (again) and the cat is finally out of the bag regarding Teresa and her new man. While Melissa skips the yacht outing because she’s sick, she still makes time to embarrass her daughter on television with a cringe-worthy sex talk.

Before the yacht trip (which is to celebrate the release of Marge’s new book Caviar Dreams, Tuna Fish Budget) we check in on the Giudices where Tre is embarrassed to discover Gia and Milania already told Joe Giudice about her new boyfriend. In a confessional, Tre tells us she’s been wanting to tell people about her boyfriend but she just wasn’t ready for everyone to know yet. Well, it’s too late for that now!

Still, it’s nice to see Tre and Joe getting along so well post-divorce. They’re both moving on and the relationship between Giudices is cordial as ever, which I’m sure makes life much more comfortable for their dorters.

We also check in on Dolores and Frank Jr., she finally tells him she’s going in to get a mammogram regarding her biopsy scare. Even though Dolores doesn’t like worrying her family, Frankie is glad his mom told him, he wants to be kept in the loop.

RHONJ Season 11, Episode 10 recap: The ladies board a yacht to celebrate Margaret’s book

Once we get to the boat, Tre wastes zero time loading up on the pineapple which has become a running joke this season about the ladies wanting to “taste better” by ensuring their diet consists of tons of pineapple!

And now that Joe knows the truth about her boyfriend, Tre finally opens up to the women about it, although she doesn’t tell them any real details about it. She insists she’s taking things super slow but Dolores isn’t buying it. Tre is head-over-heels, whether she’s ready to admit that or not.

When we finally get around to discussing Marge’s book, she takes a moment to read the passage about how she slept with her boss as a young woman. Put in context, it’s a lot easier for Jennifer to hear how horrifying and emotional that situation was for Marge and she gives her a sincere apology.

But Marge jumps down Jennifer’s throat before she gets a chance to apologize, calling her tone-deaf and bringing up the stupid Instagram Live (does Marge forget she has her own housekeeper and team, too?). Ultimately, it’s a sincere apology between the two women, although Marge still hasn’t made amends for all the nasty stuff she said about Bill and Jennifer’s marriage.

Later, Jackie visits Melissa since she skipped the yacht to fill her in on the details, including the fact Tre came clean about her boyfriend. Melissa is a little annoyed since she’d been keeping the secret all this time only for Tre to spill the beans without telling her, but she decides to keep staying mum on the subject rather than say too much and earn the wrath of her sister-in-law.

But really, I have to wonder if Jackie and Melissa have anything else to talk about other than Teresa at this point.

And the only other real significant scene we get of Melissa this week is her giving Antonia the “birds and the bees” talk and it’s as awkward and embarrassing as one might expect. Does Melissa really need to use her teen daughter’s sex life for a storyline?

RHONJ Season 11, Episode 10 recap: Tre gets emotional at a gathering with the women and their mothers

The end of RHONJ Season 11, Episode 10 is easily the best –– and the most emotional, as Jennifer invites all the ladies and their moms over for a traditional Turkish spread with tea, Turkish coffee and a beautiful spread of food. She’s doing her best to make her own mother feel better and interact with others because she knows she’s going through a lot right now in her marriage.

Part of Jennifer wants her to see what it’s like to be a divorced woman and how much happier some of the other moms are now they’re not locked in a bad marriage. It’s a beautiful gathering and all the women seem to be getting along great, especially with their moms present. But Tre gets overwhelmed seeing everyone with their moms together and gets really emotional as she starts missing her own mother.

It’s impossible not to feel for Tre in this scene as she was extremely close to her mother and the loss is still really fresh for her. She apologizes profusely but decides to leave her early so she can visit her mother’s burial site and all the women rally around her to ensure her she doesn’t need to apologize.
