Monique Samuels reveals that she is officially leaving The Real Housewives of Potomac and she is sharing the details of what led her to the decision.

It has officially been one week since the final part of the Real Housewives of Potomac reunion aired and fans are still digesting everything that happened! From Monique Samuels #ThirstBook all the way to Chris Samuels telling it like it is, the Bravo reunion certainly did not disappoint!

Well, only moments after the episode aired, Monique Samuels revealed that she would be officially stepping down from The Real Housewives of Potomac for good. Fans were obviously devastated over the news but were exceptionally understanding considering many castmates, including Candiace Dillard, Gizelle Bryant, and Robyn Dixon, have all made it clear that they are not interested in filming with Monique.

So, while that is reason enough to say “bye for good, Monique certainly had more concrete reasons for dipping out! Despite receiving a contract for Season 6, Monique is no longer interested in being a Bravo star and for all the rights reasons!

During an Instagram Live, Monique spilled all the tea as to why she made the decision to step away. “The opinion of my family and my kids and what they think about anything that I do is more valuable to me than anybody’s opinion, so I’m over it”, she said.

The star continued by thanking all of her supporters and fans, “I appreciate everything people have done for me, everybody that has been Team Monique, I love y’all! But when you cross certain lines, there’s no going back. For me, my family is that line”.

Things got deeper when Monique also revealed that she no longer wishes to abide by any stereotype moving forward. Considering the altercation that took place between her and Candiace was not a positive representation of the Black community, Monique wants to strive to do better and showcase the real and raw moments of her life without “playing right into the stereotype”.

While Monique Samuels will certainly be missed! It has become clear that the show is no longer a safe, healthy, and happy environment for her to be a part of. While fans will miss the Samuels, they remain on the edge of their seats as to who will replace Monique moving forward.

The Real Housewives of Potomac will be back on Bravo next year!
