Monique Samuels says she will be returning to The Real Housewives of Potomac, but will Candiace Dillard Bassett be back after that news?
It sounds like Monique Samuels is coming back to The Real Housewives of Potomac, much to the disappointment of Candiace Dillard Bassett. Monique was responding to a question about the rumor that she was fired, and in response, she noted that contracts had gone out and the rumor was not true.
Earlier this week, Candiace was on David Yontef’s Behind the Velvet Rope podcast, in an episode titled Candiace Dillard (RHOP – Reflects Back on Just Finished Season) – Part II. During this episode, no one was safe! She came for Porsha Williams and the fact that she rents her home. Porsha has previously aligned herself with Monique, so this comes as no surprise. Candiace also cleared up the fact that she didn’t want to sue Monique for money, she wanted her to go to jail.
Candiace noted that she would not film with Monique if she was brought back. On the podcast, she had this to say about the situation.
"I, for my mental health, cannot be around someone who is doing a music video to promote the song bragging about fighting me. And there’s nothing that I need or want to say to her. This is still a job at the end of the day."
Wonder if that has changed now that Monique has confirmed she got a contract back. Candiace, presumably, got her contract as well. Perhaps she was trying to throw her weight around to get Bravo to not renew her contract? Candiace noted that she did not join the cast of Love & Hip Hop, she joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Potomac. “I don’t want to be a part of a show that has two or three security guards.”
Andy Cohen commented a few weeks ago that he thought the cast worked well together and would not be changing anything. It seems that Candiace is not upset with Bravo over the situation yet, but we wouldn’t blame her for not coming back. On another note, we know she has that new mortgage to pay.
It is pretty clear that Candiace is still busy burning down the house of Monique and anyone on her side. “I don’t expect a lot from Porsha,” and we know she doesn’t expect a lot from Monique, either. Most of the rest of the cast was steadfast in their support of Candiace, which will definitely leave the cast fragmented for season six.
Unfortunately for Monique, she will only be able to film with those that agree to film with her. If Candiace won’t film with her, will she get demoted? It is pretty clear that Gizelle Bryant, Robyn Dixon, and Wendy Osefo will continue to back up Candiace. Karen Huger and Ashley Darby will probably remain on team Monique.
If anyone is interested, Monique is premiering her newest music video on her YouTube channel after the next part of the reunion this Sunday. The song, titled Drag Queens, will be available on all platforms after the premiere.
The Real Housewives of Potomac will be back next Sunday at 9 PM.
