Cynthia Bailey has been planning her wedding with Mike Hill for The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but does she really need 250 people there?
The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 13 was filming in the middle of the global pandemic, which obviously threw a wrench in many of their plans. Cynthia Bailey was busy planning her wedding for 10/10/20 and wasn’t going to give that up – pandemic or no pandemic! For many viewers, planning a wedding just isn’t something they want to watch. Many people had their weddings canceled during this time while Cynthia is throwing a fit about the logistics of a 250 person wedding.
While Cynthia is discussing where to put the aerialist, Porsha Williams was protesting the death of Breonna Taylor. She was marching in the streets and even got arrested for her part in the protest. Porsha was demanding that the men responsible for her death were held responsible, while Cynthia was busy discussing how important the day 10/10/20 was. The juxtaposition of the storylines didn’t exactly make Cynthia look good.
Bravo intended on filming the wedding up until the last minute. It was supposed to be inside and outside to make it easier to keep socially distant, but due to weather concerns, it was moved inside and Bravo pulled out of filming at the last minute. We don’t blame them! 250 people at an event is not only insane but against the state rules requiring less than 100 people at a gathering.
When Mike Hill cautioned that restrictions could change again and offered to have a small wedding at their house, Cynthia was not having it. “The reason I wanted to have a big wedding was because of you,” Cynthia said to Mike. Mike replied, “But I don’t care….On 10/10/20, am I going to be your husband?” It seems clear that Mike was more interested in marrying Cynthia than having a big wedding, but Cynthia wanted a big wedding with all of the people.
Mike even said they should postpone the wedding before pulling the camera down from the car and refusing to film more. To be honest, we don’t blame him. Is she getting married to have a memorable date, or to get married?
Cynthia went ahead with the wedding and it went fine, but it certainly isn’t a good look. It makes her appear very selfish and reckless while there is a lot of sadness going on in the world. Hopefully, the wedding brought Cynthia and Mike joy, but it still looks bad.
