The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is caught up in the storm that is Jen Shah and everyone has to take cover…or be destroyed in her path.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City could be renamed Jen Shah in Salt Lake City, because she has monopolized the franchise! Jen opened up about her marriage to Sharrieff Shah, who is a football coach at the University of Utah. Jen was telling Heather Gay that she felt lonely because Sharrieff was gone so much for work. She did say that’s why she was so excited about the sleepover with Meredith Marks.
Not long after that, Jen let it slip that Meredith was going through a separation from her husband, which came as news to Heather. It seems Jen is lonely and mad at Sharrieff for the most part, but taking it out on more accessible people. “You’re going to go with Mary? Who her grandfather?” To which Mary Cosby responded, “I heard that. Thank you for showing me who you are.”
The responses from the rest of the group were similar in disbelief. Even though it is joked about and has been a pretty big topic of conversation, Jen’s comment to Mary was still out of line. The underlying issue seems to be that Jen is lonely and needs some extra attention, which she thinks she is going to get by starting drama. “I would not want my friend to yell that at me at a party,” Heather said. “That’s just rude,” Whitney Rose commented in her interview. And they have a point. Mary’s marriage is STRANGE but Jen should reel it in.
Jen does have a tendency to spiral into a total hissy fit and suck everyone in with her. It turns into a giant tornado of drama that Jen is in control of. She ended up walking out of the party screaming in the street that everyone needed to leave her alone, but you can’t really leave someone in the street alone and screaming.
At the end of the day, no one can change Mary’s weird marriage. If Jen thought the rest of the ladies would be coming for Mary as hard as she was, Jen was wrong. To be fair, there’s probably a lot of weird Mormon stuff the ladies just ignore, and Mary’s marriage is going to fit in that category. Weird? Yes. Worth ruining multiple parties and friendships over? Definitely not.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is on Bravo every Wednesday at 10 PM.
