Braunwyn Windham-Burke is getting ready for her vow renewal on The Real Housewives of Orange County, which has a bad track record for marriages.

While The Real Housewives of Orange County slowly creeps towards the explosion of the coronavirus, Braunwyn Windham-Burke is preparing for her vow renewal.  If you’ve ever watched any housewives franchise, a vow renewal is basically the kiss of death for a relationship.  Knowing what we know now about Braunwyn and Sean’s relationship, the vow renewal seemed to do just that (if only temporarily).

She’s got a lot going on!

There’s no way around it, Braunwyn is dealing with a lot.  She claimed that she didn’t remember their 10 year vow renewal because she was too inebriated for it, so this was a make up for their 20 year anniversary.  Dealing with her new sobriety and trying to solidify her marriage again would take a lot out of anyone.

She has been honest about how they separated previously but came back together.  They had been with other people but ultimately made the decision to stay together.  Unfortunately, we know that Sean recently moved out of their giant home and Braunwyn keeps saying she’s seeing someone new.  Then this week, she said that Sean had moved back into the house but she was still seeing “someone.”

Debbie Downer

While shopping for wedding dresses, Kelly Dodd was a Debbie Downer and hated every dress that Braunwyn tried on.  “Is he doing drag because he wants to like have attention?  He told me he wasn’t transgender and he wasn’t gay,” Kelly commented and cemented her ignorance.  People do not need to be anything to enjoy dressing in clothes that don’t fit the perceived “normal” clothing.

Meanwhile, Braunwyn’s son, Jacob, took his first foray into dressing in women’s clothing, aka drag.  It was pretty heartwarming to see the whole family gathered around cheering on Jacob in his new dresses.  This is the kind of stuff Braunwyn might have missed before if she wasn’t sober.  Instead, he gets his entire family there to support him.

The vow renewal isn’t even until next week, but there is definitely going to be a fight during the event.  It doesn’t overshadow how much this episode meant to a lot of people out there who might be dealing with the same thoughts Jacob is dealing with, though.  So if we have to put up with a vow renewal in order to normalize accepting your children, so be it!  Vow renewal here we come!

The Real Housewives of Orange County is on Bravo every Wednesday at 9 PM.
