RHOP: Candiace Dillard Bassett makes it hard to side with her

Candiace Dillard Bassett’s behavior on The Real Housewives of Potomac has divided the cast and viewers as they grapple with the fight.

The Real Housewives of Potomac is still dealing with the fallout of the fight between Candiace Dillard Bassett and Monique Samuels.  Monique was noticeably absent from this episode and the ladies were not willing to film with her.  For Wendy Osefo’s sip and see event for baby Kam, Wendy said Monique was not invited because the other ladies did not want her there.

When Candiace noted that she was going to press charges against Monique, the other ladies seemed shocked she was going to take it that far.  It did appear the idea was being pushed by Candiace’s mom, Dorothy.  Considering Dorothy whacked her own daughter in the head with her purse last season, it seems a little misguided that this was her idea.

Of course, the violence between Monique and Candiace was not okay, but Candiace is just being vengeful at this point.  At the sip and see event, Chris Bassett had to step in and spend his night trying to calm his wife down before she flipped out on someone.  Again.  If anyone is a loose cannon in this situation, it’s Candiace.  “I was left with no choice but to file criminal charges because you can’t just physically attack someone and there be no consequences.”

It is unfortunate because violence is never the answer, but Candiace just makes it impossible to be on her side.  When Ashley Darby spoke up against the assault charges at dinner, Candiace showed her true colors again.  She can put on all of the pearls and fancy Chanel jackets she wants, but as soon as someone looks in her direction in a way Candiace doesn’t like, the ugly comes out.

The best thing that Candiace could do at this point is to continue with therapy for herself and try to find happiness because she clearly has not found it from within yet.
