The Real Housewives of Orange County pulled off an interesting premiere episode, complete with a dramatic reading from an old friend!

The Real Housewives of Orange County is back on our television screens and there is much to talk about!  During the premiere episode for season 15, there was a lot going on so we’re breaking down five of the best moments from the show.

First up: The introduction

Jeana Keough inexplicably voiced a drama, daytime soap opera-esque introduction to the episode: “They say the season’s don’t change around here, but that’s not quite true.”  Following that was a montage of classic moments, such as Vicki Gunvalson screaming about the little family van, to Tamra Judge being awful, sprinkled in with new scenes we have not seen before.

Erica Forstadt, Vice President of Current Production at Bravo, told Entertainment Tonight that they wanted to do something special for the start of season 15.  She called Jeana’s addition an “easter egg” for old fans since Jeana was on the show for seasons 1-5.  Erica went on to say that since so much changed this year with the women and their lives, “We wanted to create a cold open that would help tell that story.”   Mission accomplished, Erica!

The Beador Bunch

Shannon Storms Beador seems to be in a really great place in her life these days.  She and John Janssen both have three kids each that seem to get along very well.  While John’s kids are a little older, they seem to be adjusting to the older brother/sister roles well.  Though the families don’t live together, they were all hanging out at Shannon’s house.

Shannon told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that she’s not ready to marry John yet, mostly because she wants to do it right.  “I don’t want to make the wrong decision again, so I’m not in a rush for anything.”  For now, it seems like Shannon and John are doing well – and we love that for her!

Delivery for Kelly!

Elizabeth Lyn Vargas’ neighbor, Matt, who is also Kelly Dodd’s friend, rolled up on his bicycle with her crockpot at one point during lunch.  Kelly greeted him by saying, “Hey, where’s my crockpot, dude?”  Don’t worry, it was strapped into the basket of the bicycle for safe keeping.

Windham-Burke Secrets

Braunwyn Windham-Burke revealed that she was an alcoholic and could probably “never drink again.”  Emily Simpson noted that it was hard to actually get to know Braunwyn because she was often too inebriated to hold a conversation.  “If Braunwyn is always drinking the way she is, you can’t have anything but a superficial relationship with her,” she said in an interview.

No one was missed

While many people were skeptical of how the show would be without Tamra and Vicki, it went just fine.  The show seemed a little more balanced without two women running the cast and the screentime.  We’ve seen their storylines and know what they do with their lives – it was nice to see some new relationships.

Overall, it was rumored the first episode was a letdown but it didn’t really seem that way.  The season might be funky due to the timeline of shutdowns in California, but it seems to be off to a good start.  Hang in there, RHOC fans!

The Real Housewives of Orange County is on Bravo every Wednesday at 9 PM.
