RHOC: Kelly Dodd and her “Drunk Wives Matter” hat
By Amanda Cline
Kelly Dodd is making no new fans ahead of the Real Housewives of Orange County premiere and might find herself in hot water over her hat.
The premiere of season 15 of The Real Housewives of Orange County is upon us, and Kelly Dodd just can’t keep her hateful self together! Over the weekend, Kelly had her bridal shower for her upcoming wedding to Rick Leventhal. One of her gifts was a hat that said “Drunk Wives Matter,” a derailment of the original “Black Lives Matter.” We won’t get into all of that here, but the point is that Kelly’s hat is not only not funny, but it is also incredibly disrespectful.
If anyone should be paying more attention to their image right now, it is Kelly Dodd. Her actions throughout the quarantine have left a lot to be desired. In addition to her tone-deaf attire, there was no social distancing or masks worn at the party. If Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave can get fired for being boring, why can’t Kelly be fired for being ignorant?
Twitter is exploding with fans tagging Bravo and Andy Cohen to have Kelly fired. Viewers were already unhappy with her denial of the Coronavirus and spreading of fake propaganda about how masks don’t work, but now she’s gone ahead and mocked a movement calling for lives mattering? Ooooh, it is such a bad look.
Kelly got on her Instagram and laughed at people saying she was being inconsiderate in a live video. “Drunk wives matter? They kinda do.” She continued by saying, “People who can’t get a joke, go [expletive] yourselves.” Not a great look for Kelly, The Real Housewives of Orange County, or Bravo. If Kelly really was as ignorant as she was coming across, it would probably be better she kept it under wraps. Instead, she’s showing the whole world on a regular basis.
Mocking the fact that someone’s life matters is pretty dark, but also not understanding why others might not find it funny is just unforgivable at this point. An apology would be the least she could offer, but Kelly didn’t even do that.
