RHOP: Ashley Darby’s open relationship story a coverup, right?

The ladies of the Real Housewives of Potomac are back in full swing. Speaking of swing, do we really believe that Ashley Darby has an open relationship?

The ladies of the Real Housewives of Potomac are fully back and in action. The tea is piping hot, being spilled, and our ears are all the way opened.  Whether it’s Karen Huger having a drink too many, Monique Samuels finding reasons to be at odds with Candiace Dillard Bassett, or the fact that Robyn Dixon and Juan Dixon are stretching this re-marrying storyline as thin as it can possibly go, we have a ton to sink our teeth into.  With that notion in mind, the person that has us checking in here today is one Mrs. Ashely Darby. 

Ashley… Ashley… Ashley… where do we begin?

Well, it’s actually pretty clear.  We start in the hotel room where her husband was caught on candid camera. The storyline of the last two weeks has heavily surrounded Ashley’s husband, Michael Darby, and the reemerging of his extramarital affairs.

This time though, there are clear receipts. In two separate photos, you can see Michael entertaining a woman at what appears to be a casino gaming table (reportedly the MGM National Harbor, which makes total geographical sense), while the other has him in front of hotel furniture in his skivvies.

What a tangled web we weave, right?

Upon confrontation about the issues, Micahel and Ashley supposedly worked it out. It resulted in a very awkward scene in a restaurant that resulted in Ashley giving up the details about an affair she may have had with another woman and Michael eventually shutting the scene down.

Upon eventually reporting back to the clique of RHOP ladies, Ashley had a story already down. She basically told them that she and Michael have been participating or have participated in an open situation in the past.  Ashley also spoke to how this could have been a bad result stemming from that type of situation in her marriage.

Do we really believe that?

For me personally, I don’t. What it sounds like is this: Some time back, I noted that I believed the Ashley very well could be a knowing beard.  A beard is a woman that a homosexual man uses as his partner to try and hide his lifestyle.

With that notion in mind, the open relationship seems like a coverup for the fact that she knows Michael’s lifestyle, knows what he likes, knows what he does, and knows who he does it with. Being on the show, of her stature, being a beard, and living where she lives, she has to do all she can to save face.

It’s pretty par for the course with all the factors mentioned above. Everything seems too convienently ironic for the couple. It is for these reasons that when it comes to Ashley and Michael Darby of The Real Housewives of Potomac, I’m convinced that Ashley Darby and her open relationship admission is nothing more than a coverup attempt.  And again, an “attempt” that I am not buying.
