Below Deck Mediterranean has Tom Checketts about to walk off the boat due to some halibut being at the wrong temperature.  The nerve of the halibut!

Much of the focus this season on Below Deck Mediterranean has been on Malia White and her leadership, or lack thereof.  When Malia conveniently brought her boyfriend, Tom Checketts, on the show to replace Hindrigo “Kiko” Lorran, viewers were a bit suspicious.  But then Tom started showing his real colors in the galley and it almost seems like some kind of payback for whatever strings Malia pulled to get him here.

Since Tom allegedly has all kinds of experience being a chef, and even being a chef on a large boat, it was assumed he would be able to handle the pressure.  Spoiler alert: Tom cannot handle the pressure.  Last week, he flipped out at Christine “Bugsy” Drake and Aesha Scott due to a cucumber request from the guests.

But now, Malia has been spending a lot of her time in the kitchen playing sous chef to Tom and Sandy Yawn is over it.  It is comical that at this point, Malia seems to have written her own fate into her future.  Tom is freaking out about everything.  Throwing dinner rolls around, screaming at the crew, threatening to walk off the boat.  And Malia is just following him around like a scared puppy.

Sandy told Malia to stay out of the galley and Malia’s reply was that Tom is about to walk off the boat.  If he did walk off, that would be the fourth person leaving the ship due to an issue.  Tom seems highly inconvenienced that someone would actually have the audacity to ask him to do his job.  And obviously Malia is worried that Tom is not actually interested in doing his job.

Tom called Malia over the radio and then walked into the fridge area to tell her he was done, and that he “can’t do it.”  He was upset the provisions arrived late because he did not have time to cook lobsters for the guests that were about to arrive.  I mean, that’s part of the job, no?  Adapt and overcome?  Get some fresh halibut and move on with your day?  Tom is the biggest baby on this show since Master Pearson, the actual baby, was on board.

We hope Tom’s sick uncle isn’t watching this mess because we never got confirmation he was okay.  To be fair, we never got confirmation he even existed either.  But it looks like next week Tom might finally get to see him after all when he leaves the ship for good to run away from Malia.

Below Deck Mediterranean is on Bravo Monday nights at 9 PM ET!
