Real Housewives of Potomac: Is Monique Samuels trying to regain control in her life?

Does Monique Samuels feel out of control on this season of The Real Housewives of Potomac, especially with the Candiace Bassett situation?

The Real Housewives of Potomac were still at Monique Samuels lake house this weekend when Candiace Dillard Bassett and Gizelle Bryant decided to pull Ashley Darby aside to talk about her husband.  While Candiace and Gizelle were sitting inside, Monique seemed extremely suspicious about what was going on.

To her credit, Candiace did everything she could to try and keep the situation with Ashley quiet and calm.  When Ashley heard the news, she seemed, maybe, 1% surprised.  Ashley even noted that she had been smelling Michael Darby’s clothes for perfume because she was also suspicious of him.  Since this news was coming from Candiace, it was expected that Ashley would freak out.  Instead, she sort of had no reaction because it wasn’t a surprise.

When Candiace questioned her further, Ashley told them, “I read emails, text messages, I sniff underwear.  Everything.”  It sounds like whatever is happening between Michael and Ashley is just normal stuff in their home.

But while this convo was going down, Monique was certainly convinced that Candiace was doing something shady.  To be fair, they were inside for an hour or so while the rest of the girls were outside.  At one point, Robyn Dixon noted that Monique is a control freak and seemed to be taking her lack of control out on Candiace.

Things with Chris Samuels also seem to be a bit strange, especially when he did his impression of his wife.  While the rest of the impressions were quite funny and spot on, Chris’s was just foul.  It also showed a bit about how he feels about his wife.  He was fine with embarrassing her and the impression that she was performing a sex act on him was an appropriate choice?

We know that Chris things Monique is only there to be his baby making cleaning lady, but that impression of her was just foul.  If things with Chris are a bit rocky, it makes sense that Monique would be trying to get control in other aspects of her life.

Production is doing a good job of showing us the other side of people this season: Candiace in control and being mature, Chris being a pig, and Monique being a control freak.  Things really hit the fan next week  so it will be interesting to see if there is another shift from production’s point of view.
