Gizelle Bryant brought Jamal Bryant onto The Real Housewives of Potomac and the reception from viewers (and their daughters) has been lukewarm.
Gizelle Bryant has shared her screentime on The Real Housewives of Potomac with a few men who didn’t deserve her, but this one seems to take the cake. At the end of last season, Gizelle and Jamal Bryant reconciled after being divorced for years and are now back together. During the first episode, it was clear their three daughters did not approve of the reconciliation.
The voices of reason
Adore, Grace, and Angel seem to be able to see right through their father’s actions, something Gizelle is having a hard time doing. They even said that Jamal never calls them unless he thinks Gizelle is around to see it. He doesn’t seem to have an actual interest in communicating with them.
For Gizelle’s birthday, he took them all out on a boat for a fancy dinner. As some sort of gift to their mom, Jamal presented the girls with paperwork that they were now part-owners of a restaurant in Georgia called Arizona’s. Arizona’s has apparently already opened and closed for good. The girls did seem appreciative of the gift either way, though.
A good guy…for someone else?
The girls obviously love their dad, they just don’t love him for their mom. “We want the best for you because we know what he’s done in the past.” Jamal certainly has tons of unsavory rumors following him related to cheating and even having babies with members of his congregation.
While sitting down with Robyn Dixon, she said, “You’re the one who is never going backward.” And she’s right! Gizelle has always been moving forward and doing what’s best for her and the girls, and this might not be the right move.
The stories about Jamal and his extra (five?) children are horrifying and certainly don’t paint a great photo of him as a father and a “family man.” Everyone can grow and learn from their mistakes, but how many mistakes can one guy rack up to be forgiven?
The jury is still out on Jamal, and he and Gizelle still appear to be together as of late, so only time will tell. But you know what they say, once a cheater, always a cheater…
The Real Housewives of Potomac will be back next Sunday at 9 PM.
