Real Housewives of Potomac: Relationship roundup from the premiere

The Real Housewives of Potomac are back! After such a long layoff in the action, what are the latest happenings in each of the ladies’ love lives?

After a hiatus that seems like forever, somewhat of the new norm with our current world scenario in the coronavirus pandemic, The Real Housewives of Potomac are back!

Coming back with what can only be classified as a bang, the ladies of the Potomac were on full display this past Sunday night, in all their glorious candor. With a new season though springs new storylines, rising actions, and eventual climaxes, but there is already a ton to discuss from episode one.

While there are sure to be new nuggets dropped from week to week, the thing that has my ticker ticking this week is the love lives and relationships of all of the ladies. Let’s get into it here.

Karen Huger

The self-proclaimed Grand Dame of the group and of Potomac, if you leave it up to Karen Huger, is back in Potomac and apparently conquering the world, one “event” at a time. Noticeable though from her very first appearance in the latest season and episode one, she is back in the place of her rightful residential throne with her newest home in Potomac.

Although her status as an actual resident of the area is rightfully renewed, her relationship with her husband Ray Huger has seemingly gone the other way. Noting her constant absence due to her flourishing business empire, Karen says that she and Ray have drifted apart.

With a noteworthy speech on the topic at Candiace and Chris Bassett’s anniversary party, you could see that it’s some heavy emotion tied into the situation, at least from Karen’s vantage. We don’t know much more than that at the moment, but it is sure to be a wild one there.

Candiace Dillard Bassett

Since we had already broached the topic, why not tie a bow around it right now since it’s pretty much more of the same at the moment with these two. As mentioned, Candiace Dillard Bassett and her husband did celebrate their one year anniversary in episode one with a party, that memorably featured a “cash bar” but probably due to the other noteworthy admission by the couple in the episode.

They are no longer in Candiace’s mother’s “pocket”. While they are still seemingly in the honeymoon phase of it all, last year’s blowup at the restaurant between the two tells us that things have a chance to get a little volatile. Not that we are waiting for, hoping for, or even want to see that, we wouldn’t be doing it justice if we didn’t mention that it hasn’t always been rosy.

Right now though, all is well and peaceful in their Garden Of Eden.
