Leah McSweeney and Elyse Slaine were both a part of RHONY season twelve, but who should have been a full-time housewife, and who should have been a friend?

From the start of The Real Housewives of New York season twelve, both Leah McSweeney and Elyse Slaine have been a part of the group.  Ramona Singer says she and Elyse have been friends for twenty years, but Leah was supposedly friends with Tinsley Mortimer.  Neither of these friendships have actually been confirmed though.

Elyse has been on every trip with the group and at least in the background of most scenes, offering her opinion even when it wasn’t asked.  If nothing else, Elyse seems to be nosey and in everyone’s business.  During the last episode, she even asked Leah if she would be embarrassed if she was acting in a similar fashion.

Leah seems to be coming to terms with some issues with alcohol while she’s filming.  Before the show, she had been sober for nine years.  But watching her battle with alcohol is infinitely sad.  Watching Elyse be a nosey Nancy isn’t as entertaining, but it is harmless.  Ramona Singer spoke about her own upbringing and issues with alcohol which were on her mind because of how Leah was acting.

Elyse doesn’t seem to get along with the girls, besides Ramona, but she’s always lingering around nearby.  During one of her interviews, Leah made the point that she and Elyse had not had enough interactions for her judgment.  Did Elyse have enough interactions with anyone to be so judgemental?  No.

Leah just does not seem to be meshing well with the group, especially after her sister, Sarah, joined her.  She’s admitted to losing her temper with the group multiple times…but at least she’s entertaining?  Elyse can not say the same.

Obviously, Leah was the final decision for a full-time housewife, which makes sense.  There might be room for Elyse in the future, but for now, Hurricane Leah is making landfall and it doesn’t look good.

The Real Housewives of New York will be back next Thursday!
