The final part of the RHOA found Nene Leakes in a hot seat so hot she wouldn’t even be on camera. If that doesn’t scream guilty, I don’t know what does.
After a long and interesting season, The RHOA season 12 reunion finished without a Nene Leakes on set because she left like a coward. Jumping right in, Andy Cohen asked why Kenya Moore decided to throw Tanya Sam under the bus with the cookie lady drama, but everyone wanted to know why Cynthia Bailey basically did the same. Cynthia invited the cookie lady to Brooklyn’s party so she could volunteer the information about Tanya, when Kenya brought the cookie lady to lunch so she could tell Tanya. The conversation was about who was worse – but the consensus was they were both bad.
When asked about Kenya throwing shade at Cynthia about her wine knowledge, she simply said she wasn’t coming for her business. A caller asked if Cynthia was mad about how Kenya treated her season after season, but she said Kenya always apologizes for her actions. So it’s okay she’s a bad friend because she apologizes.
Another caller noted that Kenya and Nene are very similar: they both have issues with their moms, they take no accountability for their actions, they love to play the victim all the time, AND they don’t know how to be a real friend. Does Cynthia just have bad taste in friends?
Andy asked Kenya what the issue was between her and Nene because it seems that they are too far gone to be real friends in the future. Kenya says she was always supportive of Nene but Nene was never supportive back, she was just in it for the benefits. Andy mentioned that even when they were fighting, Nene always advocated for Kenya to be on the show as long as it was good for the show. Kenya thinks she’s the best friend in the universe and can do no wrong, but her inability to take responsibility for anything is very unbecoming of her.
While the rest of the group was filming, Yovanna Momplaisir was on Instagram getting ready. What it comes down to is that Yovanna used Nene for screentime and Nene used Yovanna for information. Nene still hadn’t returned by the time Yovanna appeared and she spilled the tea. Yovanna said that Nene had been harassing her via text and phone call, she even sent a cease and desist before the reunion! They apparently told her to destroy any “audio” Yovanna had that would destroy her character. That’s rich coming from Nene who had Yovanna recording private conversations for her benefit.
Yovanna confirmed that Nene asked her to record those conversations and warned Porsha Williams that Nene was coming for her. Yovanna dropped a bombshell that she told Nene she recorded conversations, but she actually didn’t. Nene wanted proof that people were talking poorly about her when she was the one doing the talking. This makes a lot of sense because Nene acted like there was audio but was never able to produce anything.
Nene was calling Porsha and trying to speak with her friend even though her laptop was still on and connected. Porsha asked Andy if he wanted to put her on speaker so she could talk which he said was stupid. Her laptop was still connected and pointed down at her table while she was calling Porsha. Nene never returned to defend herself or her actions,
Overall, for the first-ever virtual reunion, The Real Housewives of Atlanta did a wonderful job of covering just about every piece of drama over season 12. If Nene thought she was necessary to the survival of the show, her absence at the reunion was a good indication that isn’t the case.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta will be back next year.
