This season of RHONY is excellent in every way, except for when Dorinda Medley is viciously attacking her castmates for no reason.
The Real Housewives of New York City have been feuding since day one of filming. Mostly, Dorinda Medley has been harassing Tinsley Mortimer and the rest of the ladies are just trying to figure out why. In the most recent episode of RHONY, Dorinda even spoke to her “life coach” about Tinsley. He tried to help her realize that that just like she’s going through things, Tinsley could be going through her own things as well.
Dorinda has admitted a few times that she knows she isn’t being nice and that she “didn’t handle that well,” but then she does it again the next day. It is clear that having to go through all of Richard’s things stirred up a lot of feelings for her – but it isn’t like Tinsley flooded her home.
“Tinsley was born into the life that Dorinda puts on a pedestal.”
While Ramona Singer has her moments, she seems to have grown a lot during her time on the show. On the other end of things, Dorinda seems to be on the opposite trajectory. One minute she’s fine and the next minute she’s throwing insults. Dorinda basically said that Ramona is too promiscuous and that there’s something wrong with her and that is why she isn’t remarried. Why does she even care? Oh, that’s right. She’s projecting. Again.
“I know I’m not perfect,” Ramona said, before saying Dorinda goes straight for the jugular. In turn, Dorinda said that Ramona would know because she does the same.
While Dorinda was shouting about how Ramona doesn’t let things go, I think I audibly laughed. Sonja and John Morgan were married for eight years, Dorinda and Richard Medley were married for six years, while Tinsley was with Topper Mortimer were married for eight years but were together for more than 10. Ramona and Mario were together for 20 something years! It isn’t like Tinsley was married for six months! Dorinda can’t let go of anything but is preaching about how the other ladies can’t either? That’s laughable.
All Tinsley wanted was to find love, and when she did, she was out. At the point in the season, Tinsley had been dealing with Dorinda’s nonsense for months. I think I would have packed up and moved to Chicago too.
The moral of the story is: it’s okay for Dorinda to do it, but not for anyone else. The hypocrisy is very real with her this season. But in the end, it seems Tinsley got her fairytale while Dorinda is still picking up the pieces of hers.
The Real Housewives of New York is on Thursdays at 9 PM ET!
