Kelly Dodd has spent her off-season time losing fans with her Instagram rants and cross-country travel. What will the next season of RHOC bring for her?
Kelly Dodd had a lot of issues with Vicki Gunvalson during The Real Housewives of Orange County season 14. She even claimed the drama between them was impacting her custody issues with her daughter, Jolie, and her ex-husband. But in the time the show has been off the air, Kelly has shown her true colors. She’s been jet-setting across the country multiple times when the rest of the world is locked down due to the coronavirus, traveling only for “essential” needs.
While most families are staying home and liming their time out, even to the grocery store, Kelly has been gallivanting around Florida and New York without a care in the world. Sure, Jolie isn’t in her custody all the time. She’s with her dad when she isn’t with Kelly, which means Kelly is taking another cross-country flight to go be with Rick Leventhal.
I won’t get into the politics of that, specifically, but Kelly’s rants on Instagram and other platforms where she spouts her uneducated and factually-inaccurate nonsense is getting to be too much to ignore. She even had the audacity to say that the coronavirus was “God’s way of thinning the herd” and only offered a half-sincere apology.
Anyway, though Vicki was the source of many issues, Kelly seems to be the biggest source of her own issues. If she was so upset at the thought of Vicki impacting her custody agreement, why would she jeopardize it herself? Jolie deserves a stable home life and from what we have seen on the show, she is more mature than her mom in many ways.
Kelly is certainly entertaining on television but her off-camera antics are far from entertaining. People are entitled to their own opinions, of course, but to share her rants with inaccurate information is irresponsible. It has certainly tainted my views of her in the off-season, and I’m not really looking forward to seeing what she does next season.
Kelly was excellent for her ability to stand up against Vicki and Tamra Judge, but without them their, what will she do? She’s sure to set her sites on someone next season, hopefully she leaves Gina Kirschenheiter alone.
